When it comes to building a business online you’ll find that learning how to get free traffic to your website can be quite daunting and this is the reason why most people fail to be successful online.
Trust me I know all about this as I struggled with this as well when I first started and I still occasionally struggle with this from time to time so I know exactly how it feels to be in this position.
I got to thinking about this the other day and I decided to write a detailed blog post on my top 3 ways for you to drive highly targeted free traffic to your website.
If you’re a website owner who is struggling to drive traffic to your site then you’ll definitely want to stick around and read this post in its entirety as I’ll be sharing some really important information with you guys today.
I’m sure that you guys may have many questions for me regarding this topic and I’ll be doing my absolute best to answer them for you in the following post.
However, if I fail to answer your questions then please feel free to leave them for me in the comments below and I’ll be more than happy to answer them for you and help you out.
I’ll be breaking all of this info down into the following sections to make it easier for you to follow along.
SEO Search Engine Optimization
1) SEO(Search Engine Optimization)
This is one of the most common forms of free organic traffic that most people dabble with when they’re first getting started building their first website.
This is the way that I started out and the #1 way that I still use to this day to drive highly qualified free traffic to my website using this method.
How does it work you may be wondering?
It’s pretty simple if you sit back and think about it and I’ll be showing you how I use SEO to get lots of free targeted traffic to my website on a daily basis below.
It all starts with doing some keyword research and looking for low hanging fruit keywords. These are keywords that have low competition and are easy to get ranked organically in the search engines.
I usually try to stick with any keyword that has at least 50 searches or more and has less than 100 competition.
You would first need to find you a quality keyword tool that will give you up to date information on which keywords people are actively searching for the most so that you know which ones to target in your blog post or product review.
I currently use Jaaxy as my keyword tool of choice but there are many free ones out there like the Google keyword planner and many other free ones that are either completely free or come with a free trial.
Once you have found a keyword to write about then make sure this is in the title of your article and at least once in the first paragraph.
From there simply write natural and try and only use other related keywords to get your point across.
Obviously, there is a whole lot more to it than this and I could and have written several blog posts on this topic alone.
For a more detailed look into using this strategy check out this post that I have written about SEO here.
This process can take quite some time before you start to see any results but the more consistent you are in writing content, the better you’ll get at mastering this strategy.
2) Social Media Marketing
Did you know that there are currently around 2.62 billion users on social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and many other social media platforms on a daily basis?
This number is currently on the rise and by the year 2021, there are expected to be 3.2 billion users.
Pretty crazy if you ask me, wouldn’t you guys agree?
If you aren’t growing your social media presence by building a Facebook business page and sharing your posts socially on a daily basis then you’re seriously missing out on a huge free traffic source.
I feel like social media is one of the best ways for you to engage with people who are currently interested in your niche and are currently looking for more information on the topic of your website.
Just like SEO, this can take quite some time for you to grow an active and large database of followers but the sooner you start, the better off you’ll be.
I started my business page several years ago and I now have close to 500 followers and fans that follow my page for the latest updates.
For the best and worst times to post on social media check out this detailed post that I wrote here to get the maximum exposure from your social media posts.
3) Building An Email List
This has got to be one of the most valuable assets that you have when building a business online as this is something that you can use to build a relationship with your readers, gain trust, and become an authority within your niche.
Once you have established trust with your readers and have started to build a relationship with them you can then market your products and services to them.
What most people fail to realize when they’re building an email list is that they think you can start out selling to people right away before they build up any type of relationship with the reader and this is why most people fail with email marketing.
Here are 3 of the most effective ways to build an email list that I have used on my websites to build a solid relationship with my readers.
- Blog Broadcasts
- An email course
- Email campaign
Allow me to explain exactly what these 3 methods entail in case there is anything you guys don’t understand.
A blog broadcast is simply an opt-in form like the one that you see to the right near the top of this page and also at the bottom of each one of my posts.
When people enter their email address into the form and submit it they will receive my latest blog posts sent directly to their email inbox.
This is one of the best ways to build up traffic and gain more exposure to your blog posts.
An email course could be anything really ranging from a how-to course on how to do something to a full-blown comprehensive step by step training guide that you would send out each day.
This is something that I have done on other sites and have been working on myself for a while now on this site, but haven’t found the time to finish it completely just yet.
An email campaign is where someone subscribes to your list and you email them several times a week and set up automated messages using an autoresponder service like Aweber.
You could send them the latest updates, blog posts, or just about anything as long as its relevant and provides them with value.
As you can see building an email list can be one of the best ways to get started building traffic and engaging your readers with your valuable content.
It’s important to keep in mind that you’ll need an autoresponder to make all of this work and there are free ones as well as paid ones and I would recommend that you start out with the free ones first and scale from there.
My Closing Thoughts
If you’re looking for a way to drive some of the best highly targeted free traffic to your site whether you’re a newbie or someone who has been involved in the online industry for a couple of years now then you should definitely implement the following traffic methods to your site ASAP.
Personally, for me, I have been using these techniques for a while now and have had quite a bit of success with all 3 of them.
Like I said earlier since these methods are free (mostly) it’s going to take a while before you see any results with them as this won’t happen overnight.
However, if you stick with them and try and think more long term, you will start to build up a great deal of natural organic traffic that you can scale over time and this will naturally lead you to become more successful.
If you’re interested in additional training on how to implement the traffic methods that I’ve listed above then you should check into a program called Wealthy Affiliate.
This is the place that has shown me how to build up traffic using the methods listed above and I would highly recommend that you guys check them out for yourself to see what they can do for you.
Other than that I really hope this blog post has helped you guys out and shown you a few natural ways to drive more targeted high quality traffic to your site.
Still, have questions or perhaps you would like to share the experience that you’ve had using these traffic sources?
I would love to hear all about it in the comments below.
