Unless you have been living under a rock lately then you likely know how popular social media networks have become and how many people are actively engaging on these social platforms on a daily basis.
Did you know that there are over 1 billion active daily users on Facebook who are actively liking, engaging, and sharing content every day?
This is on Facebook alone!!
Not to mention, Twitter, G+, Instagram, or Snapchat if you’re into all of that.
I personally spend the majority of my time on FB, but I do occasionally Tweet something or comment and like a post on Instagram.
What if I told you that you could make money on social media by doing basically the same thing you already do on a day to day basis?
Would you be interested in learning more about it?
Continue reading, as I’ll be going over the 3 most popular ways for you to put social media to work for you and utilize this powerful platform and use it to your advantage.
Creating A Business Page (Fan Page) And Start Growing Your Audience
This is one of the most profitable ways to earn money on social media and this happens to be one of my favorite ways to do so.
Creating a business page(formally known as a fan page) is one of the most effective ways to earn money through social media platforms simply because you’ll be growing a fanbase of people who are already interested in what you have to say and are actively searching for information within your niche.
Depending on how you market your page will determine how quickly you can start earning money from it to the point where it’s producing some positive cash flow.
Once you have established an audience of like-minded people and have started to build a relationship with them you can start promoting your affiliate offers and anything that’s related to your business.
Instead of posting your personal life and updating your status like you would on your personal page you would simply post your latest blog posts, videos, or anything else relevant to your niche.
Makes sense don’t it?
Let’s keep going!!
Make Money Selling Stuff You No Longer Need Through Facebook Groups
If building a fan page and marketing different products and services isn’t your cup of tea, then you should try your hand at selling stuff around your house that you no longer need.
There is usually some kind of a selling wall Facebook group that you can join and connect with people who live in the same town as you.
You would simply need to locate the appropriate group for your city and request to join.
Once approved you can list your items for sale and connect with potential buyers and arrange to meet up with them in person.
You would be surprised at how much stuff you may have laying around your house that you no longer need.
I actually did this a couple months back and I cleaned up pretty good.
I was able to put a couple hundred bucks back in my pocket from stuff laying around that I no longer needed and was just taking up room in my closet.
You know what they say, don’t you?
1 man’s junk is another man’s treasure.
Never underestimate the value in things you may have laying around in your garage or collecting dust in your attic.
Always use your best judgment here and only meet up with people you feel comfortable meeting.
These groups are usually always free to join and you’ll be surprised at how many people you can connect with by utilizing this powerful resource.
Safety First Before Anything!!
Sell Your Skills And Promote Yourself
If you’re the creative type and you possess a skill of some nature then what a better place to promote yourself then on social media.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a carpenter looking for work, or a skilled musician looking to gain some extra exposure and grow your fan base.
If people are interested in what you have to offer and you present your information to them the right way, there could definitely be a market for this and the potential to earn lots of money in the process.
If you happen to have a budget and looking for one of the most cost effective advertising platforms to promote yourself I think Facebook ads would be the way to go.
There is a small learning curve that you’ll need to get over first but for the most part, FB Ads is pretty user friendly.
You can set a daily budget and decide how much money you would like to invest into your first ad campaign.

Hi Scott,
Thank you so much for this valuable information on how to make money on Social Media. I was searching for different ways to make money when I stumbled onto your article.
I have made some money from selling things that I no longer need on my local selling wall.
I’ve also so many things on Craigslist as well but like you mentioned above, you need to be careful who you deal with on these kinds of platforms.
These are all wonderful ways to make extra money, but is there anything you would recommend to someone who’s just starting out, looking to build something that’s more long term?
Thanks again and I look forward to your reply Scott!!

Hey Carry,
I’m so glad that this article has helped you out and that you were able to find the information you were looking for here. It’s great to hear that you have made money selling your stuff on a few social media platforms.
This is one of the best ways to sell things you have lying around without having to pay listing fees and advertising costs.
Personally, for me, I never had any luck with Craigslist and I ended up getting scammed on there more than once. I’m glad that you were able to make some money on this platform, but you definitely need to be careful who you do business with on there.
If you’re looking to build something that’s more long term that you can build out over time then you might want to check out affiliate marketing.
Have you ever heard of this before?
This is basically where you’ll build a website based on a hobby or interest of yours and promote products that are relevant to this hobby of yours.
You’ll learn how to build a website, write content, and drive traffic to it.
There is a whole lot more to it than that and I hope this makes sense to you.
The program that has helped me better understand how all of this works is Wealthy Affiliate. If you’re serious about learning the proper way to build a biz for the long term then you should seriously check them out for yourself and see what they have to offer you.
Thanks so much for dropping by Carry and sharing your experience that you’ve had selling your things on various social media platforms.
