I have spent a good amount of time thinking about this post and I have also done a great deal of research on this subject so I would advise you to listen up, pay close attention, and take notes if you would like.
In the following post, I’ll be sharing 3 unique ways that I have used to put some of my hard earned money back in my pocket by doing something that I love doing which is shopping online.
Keep in mind here that the following things I’m about to share with you won’t make you rich and you won’t be able to quit your job either.
Instead, you can use these to put a little extra money in your pocket from doing something you already do and get rewarded for it.

My Top 3 Ways To Earn Money From Shopping Online
1- Cashback Sites- In the year 2017, these kinda sites seem to be getting more popular by the minute and I have been hitting them up whenever I make a fairly large purchase online or in a retail store.
One of the things I like the most about these types of sites is that you’re basically being given free money.
Another thing that I think is really cool about these types of sites is the fact that not only can you earn cash back on every purchase.
There are also money saving coupons and additional discounts you can redeem to save you, even more, money.
Top 3 cash back sites
Depending on whether you’re an avid shopper or not will determine how much cash back you’ll be eligible for.
If you aren’t much of a shopper and don’t spend much money online then this opportunity probably wouldn’t appeal to you and this wouldn’t be worth your time.
2. Smartphone Apps- If you happen to be tech savvy and own a cell phone, then why not put it to good use?
Did you know there are many apps out there that will pay you for simply scanning your grocery receipts and many other everyday household purchases?
This has got to be one of the most foolproof ways to put a little extra jingle in your pocket for doing something you already do.
This applies to your shopping online as well as in store and there are many rewards you can unlock once you have been using the app for some time.
Other than scanning receipts and entering data into the app nothing else is required and this money usually shows up in your account shortly after you enter this information into their database.
Here Are A Few Of The Top Paying Smartphone Apps
- Ibotta
- Receipt Hog
3. Loyalty Cards- In this day and age, everyone and their mother has got some kind of a loyalty program that you’ll need to join in order to take advantage of their discounted prices and weekly specials.
Did you know that you can also earn free money saving coupons and earn massive discounts on your favorite store brands every time you scan your loyalty card?
The perks that are associated with these types of programs vary and each one comes with its own set of pros and cons.
One of the loyalty programs that I’m the most active in has awarded me with free gas for up to 3 months for simply shopping there and remaining a loyal customer.
Also on several occasions last year I was able to earn free gas for several months at a time. You definitely shouldn’t overlook these types of programs cause they can really be worth your time in the long run.
These types of programs don’t usually offer any cash award and you would get paid in other ways like free gas in my case, or a coupon in the mail to save up to 50% off your next purchase.
I happen to be a member of many of these loyalty programs and have saved several thousands of dollars from utilizing everything that these programs had to offer me.
Let’s Examine Some Of The Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Get Paid To Shop (How Cool Is That?)
- A great way to save on some of your favorite brands
- An excellent way to track your purchasing activity both online and in store
- Double down on the savings and put some of that money back in your pocket
Cons:
- Limited earning potential
- Some rebates can take a little longer than others
