When most people attempt to make money online they fail to realize that this isn’t a job where you’ll be getting paid so much per hour and drawing a paycheck every 2 weeks.
You are building a business from the ground up and creating your own brand!
You will need to devote as much time as you possibly can to get established and get your name out there to the online world.
This is going to require a whole lot more than your typical 9 to 5 40 hour work week and if at all possible, you should try and devote as much time to this as humanly possible.
As your website starts to grow you’ll naturally want to start branching out and expanding your reach.
Obviously, this is going to require a great amount of hard work and effort on your part, especially in the beginning stages.
Like any other business out there you could go up to 6 months to a year without making anything and this is where most people fail here.
Why?
It’s due to their 9 to 5 employee mindset and the way they perceive things.
I admit that it can take you quite some time for you to train your brain all over again and start looking at things at a different point of view.
In the following post, I’ll be sharing the top 5 excuses I hear from people on a daily basis as to why they can’t build an online business.
I’ll also be providing you with some tips on how you can stop making these excuses and start setting goals you would like to reach instead.
Sound good?
Are you the type of person who is constantly making excuses why you can’t succeed in the online world?
If you answered yes, then you’ll definitely want to stick around as I’ll be showing you how I was able to stop making excuses and start getting paid with affiliate marketing.
Still got questions after you’ve read this post?
Leave them for me in the comments below and I’ll send you a reply in under 24 hours.
Are you guys ready?
Let’s Get Started!!
Top 5 Excuses Most People Make When They First Get Started
I have heard them all and it seems like people want to make money online, but they aren’t willing to put in the long hours and hard work that’s required to make it in this business.
Here are my top 5 excuses that I’ve heard over the years from various people as to why they haven’t achieved any type of success in the online world just yet.
They Don’t Have The Time
This is probably the #1 excuse that I have heard from people who are just getting started.
Trust me, I can totally relate to the many things that life throws our way from time to time and the fact that there seems to never be enough hours in the day to get everything we would like to accomplish done.
I can also relate to you having a job and a life of your own, as I used to deal with this on a daily basis myself.
However, this is where you would need to get your priorities straight!!
Are you cool with busting your tail to help someone else live their dream and reach their goals?
If so, then continue making the excuse that you don’t have time to build an online business and things will remain the same for you.
However, if you’re fed up with working for someone else then you need to really buckle down and try to devote as much time to this as you possibly can.
You’ll also need to decide how badly you want to become successful here and what all you would be willing to sacrifice to make this dream a reality.
Whenever people tell me that they don’t have time to build an online business, you know what I say to them?
I tell them that saying you don’t have time for blogging or learning how to build an online business is like saying you don’t have time to make money!
Seriously!!
Think about it for a minute, Okay?
Learning how to build an affiliate marketing business is a skill that could take you really far in life and could totally change your life for the better if you’re willing to devote the amount of time that’s required for you to be successful.
They have always told me that time is money and this happens to be particularly true in this business.
They Don’t Have The Money To Invest Until Their Business Starts Making Money
While it is possible for you to get started learning the basics for free, eventually you will want to invest in more advanced training so that you can take your business to the next level.
This has got to be, one of the most ridiculous excuses that I have ever heard in my whole online career. and this happens to rank pretty high on my list of the 5 most common excuses when it comes to making money online.
As you can see this also happens to rank pretty high on my list of excuses people have as well.
Let me ask you guys a question!
If you were trying to start a brick and mortar business in the outside world, would you wait until you made your first couple of sales before investing any money into it?
Of course, you wouldn’t!!
Why should it be any different in the online world?
This could be due to several reasons and here are just a few of them:
- They look at this as a JOB instead of a business opportunity
- They aren’t serious about building a REAL business
- They’re only looking to score some free shit
- They aren’t willing to make a long term commitment
You wouldn’t believe how many emails I receive from people who tell me that once they start making money, they’ll start to invest some money into their business.
This is usually one of the many reasons why most people fail to make their first $1 online or see any kind of significant results.
If you think like this when first getting started online, then you’re automatically setting yourself up for failure from the get go.
They Aren’t A Great Writer
This particular one really hits close to home for me as I wasn’t that good of a writer myself and NEVER saw myself as the blogging type.
I happened to really suck at spelling and my grammar was atrocious to say the least.
When I came here over 4 years ago, this was 1 of the many challenges that I faced when first getting started but I didn’t let this stop me from reaching my goals and becoming successful in the online world.
This excuse also ranks pretty high on my list as well and this type of excuse is pretty common.
To be honest with you guys, I made this excuse at first when I started out and it took me a while before I came to the point where I stopped making excuses and started achieving a few of my goals.
There are also grammar and writing tools out there that will help you become a better writer and avoid making some of the most common spelling errors and other grammatical mistakes that you may make along the way.
Also, the more you practice writing, the better you’ll be at it.
They Don’t Have Any Hobbies
While this is perfectly understandable and I can relate to this to a certain extent!!
If you don’t really have any hobbies, then perhaps you should take one up.
Certainly, there has got to be something that you’re passionate about or something you could sit around and talk about for hours without getting bored isn’t there?
There are literally millions, if not billions of topics for you to choose from and here are just a few that come to mind:
- Fishing
- Sports
- Celestial Events(Like the solar eclipse that just passed)
- Golfing
- Video Games
Do any of these things spark any kind of interest in you?
Well, if you answered yes then guess what?
You could take any of the things I’ve mentioned above and build an online business from scratch here.
Also, it’s important for you to remember that you don’t need to be an expert in any particular thing subject in order to be successful in this business.
I had very limited knowledge of the niche that I choose to go with and I pretty much learned everything I needed to know along the way.
Nearly 5 years later, I’m still learning something new practically every day.
As my knowledge increases so does my paycheck!!
It’s A Win-Win!!
They Aren’t Confident Enough To Build A Website
If this was the year 2,000, then I could totally relate to how many of you may feel about building a website.
However, in the year 2017, there is absolutely no valid reason why this should even cross your mind. with all the
As technology evolves, so does the website creation process!!
Did you know that it’s possible for you to have a website live on the internet in about 30 sec to a min within 3 clicks of your mouse?
Thanks to all the advances in technology over the years, this is now possible!!
Building a website does require you to have a good amount of confidence in yourself in order for you to have any kind of success here.
Why?
Think about it for a minute if you will, If you don’t believe in yourself then how can you seriously expect other people to believe in you?
Another thing you need to keep in mind is the fact that this will require you to help other people and lead them in the right direction.
If you don’t believe you have what it takes to do this, then chances are that you’ll likely fail shortly after you get started.
In order for you to change your life, you’ll need to start changing the way you think about certain things and start looking at these things in a more positive light.
My Closing Thoughts
Are you guilty of making these excuses when you attempted the whole affiliate marketing scene?
Trust me, I feel you guys and I know exactly where you’re coming from as I had these same excuses when I first started out here over 4 years ago.
Now, instead of making these same excuses, I now help other people who are currently letting these excuses stand in their way and prevent them from moving forward and building their business.
It can take you sometime before you stop making excuses and get serious about building your future.
Personally, for me, It took me a while to get serious myself, but once I really buckled down I started to see results.
You would be surprised at what you could accomplish if you set your mind to it and stop listening to all the negative people out there.
If you’re looking for the best program that will teach you the proper way to build an affiliate marketing business, I would suggest that you check into a program I use called Wealthy Affiliate.
There are simple task based step by step training that walks you through each lesson and there is even a place for you to ask questions after each lesson if there is something you didn’t understand before moving on to the next lesson.
Have you made any or are you still making any of the excuses that I’ve listed above?
I would love to hear about how you dealt with them!!
Did you throw the towel in and let these excuses stand in your way of being successful online?
Or
Did you work through them and throw them out the window?
Tell me all about it in the comments below!!
Until next time
