Learning how to build a business online has got to be one of the most rewarding careers if you’re willing to put in the hard work and step out of your comfort zone to learn a new skill.
This will also consume a whole lot of your time (Especially in the beginning) and you’ll need to put in alot of effort as well before you see any kind of results.
However, due to the vast amount of scams and Get Rich Quick Schemes out there people tend to think that making money online is easy and doesn’t require much work.
The majority of people who get started out in this industry also don’t truly understand how much work is required and how much of a time investment is involved here.
In the following post, I’ll be revealing everything you’ll need to do to become successful in this industry as well as outlining the 5 things that most people fear (And let stand in their way) when they’re first getting started in the online world.
If you have ever struggled to make money online in the past then I encourage you to stick around and continue reading as things are about to get interesting.
1) Building A Website
Just the thought of building your first website may send chills up and down your spine but this isn’t really as complicated as it was 10 years ago.
Thanks, to places like Siterubix you can you have a fully functional website launched and live on the internet in only 4 clicks.
With technology rapidly advancing you no longer need to hire a programmer or need to know how to code to build your own website.
As a matter of fact, I build this very website that you’re on right now with Siterubix and I had a fully functional website up and running in under 5 minutes.
Yes, you read that right, 5 minutes!!
Most people tend to overthink this and they end up making it harder than it has to be which ultimately leads to them throwing in the towel before they’ve really even got started.
2) They Aren’t A Good Writer
This is one of the things that stood in my way when I first started out here back in late 2012- Early 2013.
I never did very well in English & Writing and to be honest, these were my least favorite classes in high school.
However, I wasn’t about to let this stop me from being successful online and with lots of practicing and taking action I was able to rise above this fear and not let this stop me from reaching my goals.
How did I do this?
Instead of thinking of myself as a writer, I thought of myself as a communicator. By switching up my way of thinking I was able to get past my fear of writing and actually start building my business.
Do you think anyone starts out being good at something they have never done before?
Of course not!!
With time and patience, you can get better at anything no matter how hard it may seem to you at the time.
Instead of thinking of yourself as a writer, think of this as you communicating with your audience in the same way as when you send a text message, write an email, or post something on social media.
What’s the difference between writing a blog post for your website and writing an email or posting a status update on Facebook?
They both involve writing and communicating with someone through words!!
3) They Aren’t Comfortable Putting Themselves Out There
Personally, I never had a problem putting myself out there but I can see where this could be a problem for some people.
However, in order for you to start building a relationship with your audience, you’re going to need to open up to them and let them know where all you have been and what qualifies you to talk about whatever niche you may be in.
By opening up and being personal with people they can likely relate to what you have gone through and you’ll start to build a relationship with them which will start to gain their trust.
Once you have earned their trust they will most likely listen to what you have to say and buy products that you recommend to them on your website.
With all the con artists and online gurus looking to make a quick buck and then bounce, it’s highly imperative that you put yourself out there and don’t be afraid to let people see you for the person you truly are.
4) They’re Afraid Of Being Scammed
This seems to be one of the most common fears when you start out doing anything in the online world. I myself have personally become a victim of many so called make money online opportunities that turned out to be a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Unfortunately, scams are everywhere you look online where it be a link posting scam or the latest and greatest Ponzi/ Pyramid Scheme that has just surfaced on the internet.
If you’re just starting out in the online world this could be pretty scary until you find the right program that is truly interested in helping you build a business instead of taking your money and running with it.
Like I said earlier, I have fallen for many scams myself so I know exactly how you must feel about now and I can totally relate to you feeling this way.
Eventually, I was able to stumble across a company called Wealthy Affiliate by accident while I was researching another opportunity that I was interested in joining.
Instead of being told I would make $500 shortly after signing up and that all the work would be done for me, they told me that I would need to work hard to build my business and that nobody was going to do the work for me.
Compared to all the scams that I had fallen for in the past, this was a breath of fresh air and I was relieved that I had finally found a company that genuinely cares about me and isn’t just out to take my money and run.
5) They’re Afraid Of Making A Time Commitment
This is one of the things that hold most people back from making their first $1 online. They want to make money but they aren’t willing to make a commitment and think of things over the long term.
Have you guys ever heard the term “Rome wasn’t built in 1 day”?
Well, this same thing also applies when you’re building a business online.
It’s going to require a huge time commitment and if you aren’t willing to make this commitment then perhaps this opportunity isn’t for you.
When I first started out in the online world, I must have devoted at least 10-12 hours a day, 6 days a week working on my business and I had no problems at all making any type of commitments.
Why?
Simply because I knew what I wanted and I was willing to do whatever it would take to turn my goals into reality.
If you aren’t willing to make a commitment here and devote yourself entirely to your business then your chances of being successful in the online world are practically non-existent.
Personally, for me, I gave myself a year to be successful and make a long term commitment that I would do anything and everything in my power to make this business work for me.
I made my first sale after 3 months and 7 months later I was earning enough money to be able to quit my full time job.
Guess what would have happened if I didn’t take this seriously and make any type of commitments?
Well, I wouldn’t be where I am now and chances are I would still be stuck in my 9 to 5 job that I hated.
