Making the decision to pursue a career online is one of the best decisions you could ever make.
However, there are many things out there that you need to be aware of before venturing out in the wild and crazy virtual space that we call the internet.
When I first started my online journey over 4 years ago, I wish that I would have come across an article like the one you guys are about to read.
If I had, then it’s likely that I wouldn’t have fallen for so many crazy hairball schemes that only cared about taking my money than I did in my online journey.
Consider yourself lucky to have found this article when you did!!
In the following article, I’ll be showing you 5 warning signs you need to be aware of when searching for make money online opportunities.
Limited Positions Available
This has got to be one of the most deceptive marketing tactics out there and one of the most dishonest ones as well.
The types of systems that use these sketchy techniques are usually link posting scams and high ticket recruiting schemes.
They use this type of unethical marketing tactics for 3 reasons:
- To play with your emotions and create a sense of urgency
- To trigger you to make a purchase based on an impulse
- To make you feel like you’re missing out on the deal of a lifetime
Any system out there that tells you that positions are being filled quickly and there won’t be any more available are simply lying to you just to get you to open up your wallet and give in to their scheme (Whatever that may be)
I have personally fallen for this several times when I first started out here and lost a great deal of money by giving into these scammers requests, instead of doing my proper research first.
Available For The First Time In Your Local Town Or City
When you really think about this one, it seems a little creepy to me, what do you guys think?
Just the fact that these con artists know the name of your local city or town should creep you the F*** out and send chills up and down your spine.
Any make money online opportunity that takes this approach doesn’t have your best interests at heart and this is made pretty clear through their shady marketing techniques.
One of the awesome perks of having an online business is that your audience is unlimited and you can literally reach out to millions of people in different countries and help them out with the click of a button.
How cool is that?
Why on earth, would certain towns or cities be excluded from learning how to make money online?
This didn’t make sense to me when I really sat down and gave it some thought!!
Does this make sense to you guys?
Featured On Your Local News
Have you guys ever run across a system that claimed they had been featured on the local news?
If you have, I advise you to turn around and run as fast as you can in the opposite direction!!
This should be 1 of the biggest warning signs for you to be on the lookout for when trying to avoid falling for online scams.
This is another tactic that I fell for in the earlier years of my online career and I can’t believe how gullible I was back then lol.
This is a commonly used by many of the online gurus as well as some of the more inexperienced marketers who are getting started on the wrong foot.
They do this for a couple of reasons and here are the most practical ones:
- To make their product or service seem legit and trustworthy
- They try to get you to let your guard down relax a bit
I watch the news at least once every day and I’ll be the first one to tell you that I have NEVER seen a work from home company featured on my local news channel and I likely never will.
This is a bunch of BS and anyone who tells you this should automatically raise a red flag for you and tell you to keep stepping onto the next program and don’t look back.
Get $500 For Watching A Video
This has got to be the biggest load of crap that I have ever heard, and the sad thing about this is that there are many people who fall for this and lose their hard earned money on something that’s based on lies and deception.
This whole idea originated from a well-known scheme that many of you may be familiar with called MOBE created by Matt Lloyd.
To keep your attention and prevent you from clicking out of the sales video after a few minutes he entices you with a handful of cash as an incentive.
Of course you never actually receive this money or hear anything about it after the sales video is over and this type of marketing tactics really tick me off.
Many of the other MOBE funnels are also using this approach and you need to avoid these as well!!
You Are Guaranteed To Make A Million Dollars By Next Week
This has got to be one of the most obvious warning signs of an online scam and one of the most popular ones that exist today.
This all ties into the whole get rich quick schemes that are so prevalent in the online marketing industry today.
This technique seems to do really well for the online gurus, scam artists, and other shady marketers in the online space and something you need to be aware of so that you don’t become their next victim.
Anyone out there who guarantees that you’ll make any predetermined amount of money in a specified time frame is scamming you and should be avoided at all costs.
It’s literally impossible for anyone to tell you how much money you’ll make in a certain amount of time due to the fact that this is all based on the amount of time and hard work you put in.
Nobody can guess how many hours you may put in and how hard you work on your business!!
My Final Thoughts
When making the decision to pursue a career in affiliate marketing, it’s important that you do some in depth research on both the pros and cons of this industry.
If you don’t have some kind of direction and some guidance, you could very well end up blowing hundreds and even thousands of dollars trying to find that golden program that will lead you in the right direction and tell you the ugly truth about making money online.
If you make note of these 5 warning signs that I’ve presented to you guys today you’ll avoid falling into many of the traps that I fell in when I first started out in the online world.
Learning how to make money online can take a great deal of patience and a good amount of work before you see any kind of results and this is why most people fail before they even get started.
If you’re looking for an honest and legit place that will tell you the truth and show you the right way to build an affiliate marketing business, I would highly recommend Wealthy Affiliate.
This is the place that has taught me everything I know today and the place that is continuously evolving and updating their training.
Have you guys fallen for any of the warning signs that I’ve listed above?
