Who doesn’t like to get free stuff right? They always say that the best stuff in life is free, but when it comes to signing up for free trial offers you might want to think twice. Why you might ask? It’s simple, online companies love to use the word “Free” to suck you into something that may seem like a good deal at the time, but you’ll end up regretting it later.
Today I want to talk with everyone about the dangers associated with these kinds of offers and show you 3 reasons why they should be avoided at all costs. In the past week, I have reviewed several programs that serve as nothing more than a funnel to get people to sign up for these trial offers.
Here Are 3 Reasons Why You Should Avoid These Kind Of Offers Like The Plague!
- Personal Information- No matter if it’s free to sign up for these offers or not, you will still be required to give out your personal and private information to these companies before you can gain access to these offers.
I Have Gave My Personal Information Out To Companies Like This But I NEVER Will Again And Here’s Why:
Release Of Personal Information- Once you submit your email address to these companies there are a few things you should be worried about. For one, they could very well sell your email to other companies. There are many companies out there that sell their customers list to other companies all the time. Another thing you have to worry about is your inbox filling up with junk offers.
From my personal experience with offers like this, even after I canceled the product and unsubscribed from their emails I still got bombarded with spam emails for a couple weeks. Check out this screenshot of my inbox below a few minutes after I gave out my email.
You also need to provide these companies with your credit card number. If it’s free to sign up, it’s usually only for 7 days. If you don’t cancel within that time your credit card will be charged.
Always read the fine print and make sure they don’t have any boxes checked that’s signing you up for a monthly membership each month without your knowledge of it.
2. The Cancelation Process Is By NO Means An Easy Task- Most of the time it’s a whole lot harder to cancel these offers than it is to sign up for them. From my personal experience, even though I signed up online for some reason, I had to call a special number to cancel. I was literally on the phone with them for close to an hour. You also have to keep your fingers crossed that you get someone that speaks English, or whatever your native tongue is or your screwed.
They will do their best to talk you out of canceling by offering you a special member discount or offering you some extra bonuses if you don’t cancel. They are trained on how to do this and they can be pretty aggressive.
Even after they told me that I was good to go, I still managed to get charged the following month. It took me forever to finally get a refund.
3. People Tend To Forget To Cancel Before The Trial Is Up- We all live busy lives and sometimes we get caught up with our everyday activities and it slips your mind that you signed up for these offers. To help you remember, I would set a reminder on your phone a couple days before it’s up. You could also mark this date on your calendar and highlight it so you see it every day.
It’s your responsibility to cancel these products or services if you want to avoid being charged for something you don’t need or want. I would keep a close eye on your credit card statements for a few days after you cancel to make sure you don’t incur any charges.
My Personal Opinion About Free Trial Offers
While there are people who make money with these offers, I personally wouldn’t recommend them to anyone due to my experience with them. The time, effort and risk involved is simply not worth it in my opinion. You could also be setting yourself up to be scammed by another company later on due to the fact that they will sell your information to these companies without your knowledge of it.
Also the majority, if not all of these offer based companies require you to refer other people before you are eligible to start making money with them. From my own personal experience, I know that you need to have at least a little bit of knowledge about how to market products online to be successful with this.
There are much better ways to make a steady income online that don’t require you to recruit other people or complete trial offers.
A Free Offer That Is Worth Your Time And Doesn’t Require A Credit Card To Get Started
The place that has helped me build an online business around my hobbies doing something that I enjoy is Wealthy Affiliate. You won’t need to complete any trial offers or give out any personal information other than your email address to join. You also won’t need to give out your credit card number to get started. They have a Free Starter Membership that includes everything you need to get you up and running so that you can start making money right away.
They have step by step task based lessons that walk you through how to build the foundation for your business. I will also be there to help you get started and answer any questions you may have along the way.
I have been a member of this online community for going on 3 years now and I have helped hundreds of people make money doing something they love in that time. You will find me actively answering people’s questions and offering advice on a daily basis within the community.
I really hope this post has helped everyone out here today and I hope that I have been able to educate you on how these trial offers really work. While they make it seem like it’s easy and that you can make lots of money from it. In reality, these programs are more of a headache than they are worth and you won’t end up making anything from them.
Do you have a personal experience with working on these offers? Where you successful with it? How much money were you able to make from them? I would love to hear all about it in the comments below. This will help other people who are reading this post to make a sound decision.
Until Next Time!
Scott
Hey Scott,
Free trial programs to me besides being a complete waste of time they are very dangerous. And you touched on the main reason why I say that.
You’re handing out your personal information to a company you have no real idea about.
I am amazed how easily people give up their information online. I truly believe many people don’t have a clue how dangerous the internet can be.
A site tells you what you want to hear and without hesitation people hand over their info.
Try walking up to someone on the street and ask them for all their personal info, see what happens.
You have to be just as guarded with your information if not more online.
Simply stay away from this programs – they will do you more harm then good.
Cheers

Hi Leo,
Yes, not only are trial offers very time consuming, they can also be very dangerous if you don’t pay attention to the fine print and be careful as to how much personal info you give out to these companies. I’m also amazed at how easily people give up their personal details online, but if someone dared to walk up to them in public and ask for their info they would probably get slapped in the face.
You would think that people would be more careful online, then just willingly handing out their information to random strangers that they don’t even know just to make a few bucks. Instead of wasting their time with trial offers they could be learning how to build a real business online and get around the clock one on one quality help and support from a community that cares about helping you become successful.
It’s best if they get their priorities in order and completely avoid any programs set up in this fashion.
Thanks so much for stopping by Leo and sharing your insights into these kinds of programs. I really do appreciate it.
Cheers
Your Friend, Scott
