One of the biggest pet peeves that really bothers me that I see online marketers doing who are either well established, or just getting started, is they focus on the selling aspect, instead of offering a helping hand.
If you’ve been online for any amount of time you have probably encountered multiple sales pages that are either after your email address, or they’re pitching you their latest and greatest make money online opportunity.
They could really care less about helping you out and from the minute you land on their sales page they focus their efforts on ways to get you to get your credit card out.
In most cases, they go out of their way to suck as much money out of you as they possibly can.
This is really sad when you think about it because this is actually the complete opposite of the way you should be building a business.
Don’t you hate being sold to?
I know I do and whenever the Direct TV booth is setup inside Walmart, I go out of my way to avoid having to deal with a pushy salesperson.
I can’t stand being sold to and if you’re anything like me then you likely feel the same way.
In the following post, I’ll be showing you guys how to make more $$$$ by reaching out and helping people than you would by selling to them.
Are You In Business Strictly For The Money Or Are You Trying To Help People?
Obviously, 1 of the reasons why you’re building an online business in the first place is to make money.
I totally get that we need money to live and it’s something that we simply can’t live without!!
However, what I don’t get is why people think that it’s cool to try and sell to their audience before they’ve even taken the time to get to know them first?
There is a wide range of online marketing gurus out there who are doing this exact thing and this is something that has always concerned me and threw up a red flag for me.
They focus on, sell, sell, sell and put more effort into building their sales page and creating their upsells than they do with reaching out and helping answer peoples questions and providing them with a solution to their problems.
If you don’t plan to be in business long and your main goal is to make a lot of money and bounce, then I guess that’s cool.
Doesn’t really make a whole lot of sense to me, but to each, it’s own, right?
However, if you’re serious about making this into a full-time career and you’ve made some long term goals that you would like to reach within a specific time limit, then you need to focus on helping and less on selling.
Build Trust & Establish A Relationship First & The Money Will Follow
When building a business online, it’s of utmost importance that you’re as transparent and up close and personal with your audience as you possibly can be.
Get the dollar signs out of your eyes for a minute and come to the realization that these are real people who are in need of your help and expertise!!
They likely have many questions that they have come to you looking for the answers!!
As an affiliate marketer, it’s your job to reach out to these people and actively engage with them.
Answer their questions, and make sure that they know you’ll be there to help them out and lead them in the right direction.
Once you make it known that you are there to help them out and support them and not just another sleazy IM guru who’s out to get their money, they will naturally open up their wallet and be more than happy to buy from you.
There are so many shady IM gurus out there that are a wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing and they make their product/ service look so enticing from the outside looking in.
After they get your CC digits you’ll notice that’s it wasn’t as glamorous on the inside as you thought it was.
By this point, they’ve usually dipped out and any chance that you may have had getting your money back has gone, Bye-Bye-Bye!!
They have already set their sites on targeting their next victim and chances are, that you’ll never hear from them again.
4 Helpful Tips You Can Use To Make More Money Online Without Selling
In the 4+ years that I’ve been online, I have learned many things over the years that have helped me become a much stronger and more helpful marketer and I would love to share them with you guys today.
Listed below are 4 helpful tips that I’ve learned in the past 4 years!!
- Don’t Try And Trick People- Never trick people into investing in your product or service and avoid using sleazy marketing tactics that prey on people’s ignorance. Always be upfront, honest, and above everything else, make sure you’re providing them with value.
- Don’t Be Known As A Spammer- If you’re actively building an email list it’s important for you to know how many times you should reach out to them without being known as a spammer. Typically if you send out an email 2 to 3 times a week, I seem to have the most success by doing this.
- Get To Know Your Audience- The more you learn about what your audience needs help with the most, the better you’ll be able to help them out and lead them in the right direction.
- Stop Selling & Start Helping- Like I said earlier, you would be blown away by how much more revenue you could bring in if you would quit selling to your audience and instead, start helping them.
If you follow these 4 tips that I’ve mentioned above and take massive action on them, your bank account will start to grow significantly faster than it would if you decided to go the other route.
Are You A Wolf Dressed Up In Sheep Clothing When Marketing Your Business Online?
As a newbie in the online world, you may be doing this right now and up until this point, you had no idea that you were going about all of this in the wrong way.
Chances are that you never got the memo, and likely you were trained that in order to make money you needed to sell, sell, sell.
Trust me, I can totally relate to how you must feel about now because I did the same things early on in my internet marketing career.
With all the potential business opportunities and MLM’s that I joined over the years, their main focus was on recruiting and hard selling.
I have never been good at selling anything and my chances of winning the lottery were better than me ever trying to recruit anyone.
I knew that there had to be a legit way to earn money online that didn’t involve recruiting, cold calling, or any type of hard selling.
After years of searching for that golden program that would lead me in the right direction and show me how to build a real business that helped other people is Wealthy Affiliate.
If it wasn’t for their step by step task based lessons and one on one help and support it’s hard to really tell where I would be, and how I would be earning a living.
If you ever have had the desire to learn the proper way to build a business online without the hype and other BS that’s associated with most other programs online, then you should seriously look into WA and see if they can help you as much as they’ve helped me.
Anyways, I hope this post has provided you guys with value and that you have learned how to earn more money without selling.
Are you guilty of any of the things I mentioned above?
Make sure to tell me all about it in the comments below!!
Until Next Time
Cheers
