What Exactly Is Bing Rewards?
This is Microsoft’s loyalty program. By simply switching over to their search engine and searching the web like you normally would, you can get rewarded for your activities online.
Microsoft unveiled this program back in Sept 2010 and in that time they have rewarded millions of people for simply using their search engine and being loyal users.
I’ve actually been a member for quite some time now, & I thought I would share my experience with you guys today. This way you can get an inside look at everything their rewards program has to offer, before you join and ultimately decide whether this is worth your time or not.
How Does It Work?
If you already have a Microsoft account, chances are, that you are already a Bing Rewards member. All you need to do is stay logged in and use their search engine like you normally would. They have a chrome extension that you can install to keep track of your points, or you can just go directly to Bing and search from there.
There Are 3 Membership Levels Which I’ll List For You Guys Below
Standard- This is the level that everyone starts at. There are 2 primary ways that you can earn credits at this level.
- Earn credits for completing daily offers(This usually consists of quizzes or games)
- Earn credits for searching on Bing
Silver- Once you earn 200 points and have redeemed your points for your first award you’ll be upgraded to this level. You also receive a one time 50 point bonus once you reach this level. The only thing different about this level is the 50 point bonus.
Gold- After you have accumulated 750 points you’ll be upgraded to their gold membership. You’ll also be required to make 150 monthly searches using the bing search engine before you’re upgraded to this level. You’ll also receive a 10% discount when redeeming your points for rewards.
How Does Their Point System Work?
Your membership level will determine how many points you’re limited to each day and I’ll list how many points you’ll be eligible to earn each day from each level below.
Standard Membership- You are restricted to only 30 points per day at this level and these points are evenly distributed across all of your devices and your daily offers.
Here’s The Breakdown Of How Your Points Are Distributed
Desktop Computer- You can earn 15 points a day using your desktop.
Mobile Device- You’ll have the opportunity to earn 10 points using your mobile device.
Daily Offers- Your remaining 5 points are reserved for your offers.
Gold Membership- If you are a gold member you’ll see an increase of 10 points bringing your daily total to 40 points a day. Instead of only getting 15 desktop searches you’ll now get 30 along with an extra 10 points using your mobile device.
There have been many complaints that people aren’t seeing the point increase once they reach gold status and Bing is currently aware of this problem.
What Kind Of Rewards Can You Earn?
Once you start earning points you can cash them in for gift cards to some of your favorite retailers online as well as Xbox live and Microsoft gift cards. You can also enter your points into their sweepstakes drawing and be entered for a chance to win.
You can also donate your points to the boys and girls club of America or teach for America charity.
Take a look at the screenshot below to get a look at the rewards you can earn with this program.
As you can see above, you need to earn quite a few points just to qualify to receive a $5 gift card. If you happen to be a gold member, you’ll be able to save some points and get this for only 475 points. Once you reach 20 points you’ll have the option of entering these into their sweepstakes drawing.
Unfortunately, there is no cash option available at this time and this is what makes this program less appealing to many people.
Instead Of Earning Gift Cards Learn How To Earn Some Real Money Online. Check Out My #1 Recommendation Here!
Here’s What I Liked About It
- Free to get started
- A great way to earn free gift cards from your online activity
- Has been around since 2010
- You only need to be 13 to enter
Here’s What I Didn’t Like About It
- No way to make any actual money with this program
- Only open to US residents
- Requires you to switch from Google to Bing(This is the dealer breaker for many folks)
- Many complaints about constant changes in the program
Let’s see how this program stacks up to my #1 recommendation for building a business online!
What Do I Really Think About Bing Rewards?
Probably one of the things that I dislike about this program the most is that there is no way for you to earn any actual cash money. Gift cards are nice and who wouldn’t want to earn free gift cards for simply searching the web and using their search engine?
Let’s face it, you can’t pay the bills or put food on the table with gift cards right?
If you are the type of person who likes entering sweepstakes and doesn’t mind getting paid in gift cards, then I think you could definitely benefit from using this program. You should think of this as a fun and easy way to get rewarded for things that we normally do online anyway.
What’s there not to like about that?
Bing Rewards Alternatives
If you’re the type of person who’s interested in getting paid to search the web but don’t really care about gift cards and would rather earn some cold hard cash. There are other paid to search programs out there that will send this money directly to your PayPal account.
Here’s My Top Recommendation
Another downside to this would be that if you’re used to using Google as your search engine this may take some time for you to adjust to using Bing instead. Remember you need to be logged in to Bing at all times in order to make your searches count and receive your points.
I really hope this review has helped you guys make a decision as to whether or not you could benefit from this program or not. If you happen to be a member of Bing Rewards and you would like to share your experience with other people, feel free to do so in the comments below.
Also if you have any questions or if you have anything you would like to add to this, feel free to leave it for me in the comments below as well.
