Overall Rating: 3.5/ 5 Stars
I have gotten a request from one of my loyal website visitors asking me to do a thorough review of this company so I thought I would check it out and see what they have to offer and let you guys know if it’s really worth your time or not.
In order to give you guys an honest and trustworthy review, I went ahead and actually purchased this so that you can get an inside look at everything you’ll gain access to before you join.
Let’s dig in and see what all they have to offer OK?
What Exactly Is BlogPress?
This is basically a platform that shows you how to set up a blog based on your passions and interests.
Not only do they provide you with your own free website to get started, they also have step by step training along with help and support. I was actually really impressed with everything that you gain access to for only $14.95 per month.
They also offer free hosting and over 150 themes for you to pick from so you’ll have your blog up and running in no time with their easy 4 step website setup instructions.
Their training walks you through everything from launching your site live for the first time to setting up an email campaign.
Even though this doesn’t quite live up to my #1 recommendation that walks you through how to build an online business it’s definitely something that’s worth checking out.
What Will You Be Doing Once You Join?
Once you become a member you’ll gain access to all of their training, tools, and help and support. One of the first things I did when I logged in for the first time, was headed over to their training section and setup my first BlogPress website which is a sub-domain that will have the extension .blogpress at the end of it. Once you get your blog setup you’ll need to head over to the training where you are going to learn how to start building the foundation for your new site.
Check out the screenshot below to get a visual of the member’s area
Here’s What I Liked About It
- Low start-up cost
- Lots of value for only $14.95/Month
- Offers a 14-day risk free trial where you can get a no questions asked refund if you aren’t 100% satisfied with their service
- Doesn’t offer empty promises or hyped up claims that you’ll get rich quick
- Help & Support is pretty awesome(I emailed Jennifer a question I had and got a response in under an hour)
- Provides you with your very own sub-domain at no extra charge with the ability to purchase your own domain name
- Offers both video and text-based training lessons
- 90-day blogging success plan
Here’s What I Didn’t Like About It
- Their training isn’t quite as in-depth as my other recommendation for building a website
- If you decide to purchase your domain name you’ll be charged extra for basic features like email accounts, privacy, and other basic features
- Their subdomains have a 5gb limit
Training & Tools To Get You Started
One of the things that stood out to me the most was their 90-day blogging success plan.
This is something that most online business opportunities seem to fall short of and they would rather sell you on the dream of becoming rich instead of providing you with quality training.
Check out everything that’s included in their 90-day blogging success plan below
As you’ll see above, this covers everything from setting up your site to making your first sale.
Like I said earlier, you’ll also be provided with a free sub-domain to get you started with the option to upgrade to your own domain in the future once you’re ready to take things to the next level.
To update your domain, point your browser to domains.theblogpress.com
They also offer free hosting at no additional cost to you which is something you don’t see much anymore as most people wanna charge an arm and a leg for this service.
How Much Is All Of This Going To Cost You?
Like I mentioned before you can get everything that I’ve listed above to a mere $14.95 per month.
They also offer a spectacular way to get more of a bang for your buck by upgrading to their yearly plan which is a 40% savings.
This comes out to only $97 for an entire year of blogging, training, and help and support. Broken down this comes out to $8.08 per month or 27 cents per day.
They also offer specials from time to time where you can save even more money.
How’s Their Help & Support?
Their help and support come in the form of a support ticketing system. They have a dedicated staff that’s waiting to answer your questions and clears up any issues you may have.
I wanted to test out their support for myself to see if it really was as good as they claimed it was. I sent their support team a question to see how fast they would respond.
I was actually quite shocked when I got a reply from not only a real person but the owner herself (Jennifer) in under an hour. Their customer support is available 7 days a week from 9 am to 7 pm central time (excluding holidays)
You’ll usually hear back from support within 24 hours, but most of the time you’ll hear back from them within a few hours depending on the nature of your question.
If you just have a question and you don’t need any technical help with your website then you will likely get a pretty quick reply.
If you require technical assistance this could take a whole lot longer to process your support ticket.
They also have an entire database of support articles that cover a wide variety of topics that will more than likely provide you with the answer you’re looking for.
Let’s see how BlogPress stands up to Siterubix which happens to be my #1 website builder of all time below
My Final Thoughts
BlogPress is one of the very few quality programs out there that actually shows you how to set up a blogging business and walks you through the actual steps.
If you’re serious about starting a blogging business and learning the basic steps required to start earning an income from your blog I think BlogPress would be a good fit for you.
I would highly recommend that you at least give them a test drive and take advantage of their 14-day risk free trial to see if this is something you would be interested in doing before committing to becoming a member.
While I think this program is pretty legit and their training is decent for the amount of money you’ll be paying each month, there are some flaws which I’ll list for you guys below.
The support team is there to answer your technical questions and solve any issues you may have with your blog but what if you need some personal coaching or a mentor to help you out along your journey?
Unfortunately, you won’t find that here and they also don’t have an affiliate program which I find to be pretty odd since they have been in business for quite a few years now.
They also lack a community and there is no way for you to network with other successful bloggers and pick their brain.
In order to be successful online, it’s vital that you have access to your own personal coach and be able to find someone to mentor you when you need it.
You also need a community of experienced marketers that you can network with so you can learn the mistakes that they made when they first started and avoid making them yourself.
If you’re just getting started online and you’re looking to learn the basics of blogging, SEO, and driving traffic to your site then I think you could really benefit from this program.
However, if you are looking for a go-to place to gain access to everything under one roof (Including Domains) to setup, build, and scale your business online, then I would highly recommend that you check out Wealthy Affiliate.
I really hope this review has helped you guys out and that I have provided you with the info needed to make a sound decision as too whether this would be a good fit for you or not.
If you still have questions or if I left something out feel free to leave it for me below.
I would love to hear from you guys! Also, if you were a previous or you are a current member now I would love to hear about your experience with this company below.
Until Next Time

Hi Scott,
I already bought a lifetime membership plan on BlogPress, so I guess I’ll just stick with them; also because I am a complete newbie to the world of blogging.
The clarification or assistance I really need from you (which was what I searched for on Google and then landed on your blog) is this:
I got my lifetime membership now with BlogPress, but because of their extra cost on domain names, which you rightly mentioned, I searched the net and found one BlueHost, then I bought hosting and a domain name from them. However, now I’m confused, cause I don’t know whether I now have two blogs or a blog (from BlogPress) and a website (from BlueHost). Can you please really explain to me what I have gotten myself into. And whether I can somehow transfer that hosting plus domain name to my blog on BlogPress without losing BlueHost’s services like the email and privacy protection that comes with the plan.
Now, I don’t want to ask this question to either BlogPress or BlueHost cause I’m afraid they might be biased in their replies.
I’ll be extremely grateful if you can clarify me on this confusion.
Thank you.
Scott Newkirk
Hey there,
Congrats on purchasing a lifetime membership at BlogPress!!
If you’re a newbie who is just getting started online then I think this would be your best bet, especially if you’ve already paid in full.
If you only have a subdomain from Blogpress and you have purchased a domain + hosting from Bluehost then you have 1 domain name and 1 subdomain.
If you would like to transfer your domain name from Bluehost over to Blogpress then you would need to get a transfer code from Bluehost.
You would need to either call them on the phone and speak with one of their customer service reps or do this through their site to acquire this from them.
Here’s more info on this topic below
https://www.secureserver.net/help/article/6840?prog_id=483468
However, once you make this transfer you will no longer be with Bluehost and you would lose access to their email and privacy protection.
Also, you would need to pay a transfer fee to transfer this domain over to BlogPress. This is standard procedure tho and something you would need to do no matter where you transfer a domain too or from.
Blogpress has their very own email and privacy protection plans but I’m not sure if they come included with your domain purchase or not. You would need to check with them for clarification on this.
To transfer hosting from Bluehost over to Blogpress you would need to update your DNS and change your nameservers from Bluehost to BlogPress. You would need to contact Blogpress to get their nameservers and update them in your DNS settings.
I really hope this helps answer your question and clears up any confusion you may have had on this issue. If you have any other questions or need my help please let me know.
Cheers

Hi Scott! Very good review,i am trying to choose between Blogpress and WealthyAffiliate, but the problem with WealthyAff, is that they also give you the free basic websites to start you up ,and then you gotta dig in deep to bring up the 49.95 $ i think it is ,thats nonsense its to much money for a newbie,i think thats what they want, and the other thing is that they have a big distraction called chatting,i mean how can you focus, well thats my opinion, thanks .congrats for your efforts on this review.

Hey Tony,
Thanks for stopping by and I’m glad that this review has helped you out. Choosing between BlogPress and Wealthy Affiliate can be a difficult decision to make as they both are good programs.
You can get started for free with both programs. However, WA offers a whole lot more than Blogpress and their training goes more into detail.
If you think that WA is too expensive then you should checkout Blogpress as it’s more cost-effective.
If you decide to go with WA and you upgrade your membership to premium status within your first 7 days you’ll receive a 62% discount on your first month.
This comes out to only $19 instead of the regular membership fee of $49.
I don’t know why you think $49 month is too expensive to start an online business. Do you know of anywhere else that you can start a business for $49/ month?
I have tried starting up multiple businesses over the years with NO luck because the startup costs ranged anywhere from $60,000- up to $100,000.
Who has that kind of money to start a business? I know I don’t and when I found out that WA was only $49 a month with no upsells, I was delighted to pay this small fee.
If you have a problem paying this, then perhaps WA wouldn’t be a good fit for you and you should check into Blogpress instead like I said earlier.
Also, the live chat inside WA is there to help you receive instant help with any questions you may have and get them answered in real time. I can see how it could become a distraction if you let it be.
I hardly ever go into the WA chat because I get distracted pretty easily as well so I can totally relate to you about this.
Anyways, thanks for dropping by and sharing your thoughts with everyone here today.

Hi Scott and folks,
I happen to be that loyal website visitor who requested Scott put this review out here for everybody.
I wanted to point out that if you’re into WordPress accessibility, and themes marked accessibility-ready, meaning that they comply with not only the WordPress guidelines but are also friendly to access technology in use by folks like myself, than BlogPress has you covered here as well! 🙂 I can’t say if Wealthy Affiliate does or not as I actually never got around to trying to build a site on the Site Rubix platform. But one day, I think I’ll give that another go! The challenge would be worth it!
The BlogPress video presentation that is strongly suggested to watch before you go signing up is something I also like personally. I truly do believe that in the end, we hold ourselves back from doing many things in life.
Again, thanks for this review Scott, and I look forward to seeing more as time goes on! All the best man!
Your friend, Keith

Hi Keith,
Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts on BlogPress with everyone here today. Both Blogpress and Siterubix uses WordPress as their CMS so both of these website builders would be accessibility friendly. I also found that the video presentation was put together really nicely and I would also suggest that everyone watch it before jumping into this opportunity.
I agree with you that we do seem to hold ourselves back when it comes to the many things that life has to offer. I’m so glad that this review has helped you out Keith and please let me know if you have any other requests and I’ll be more than happy to review them for you.
Cheers
