Unless you have been living under a rock for the past 5 years then chances are you have heard about FB ads at some time in your ventures online.
Am I right?
If you have been a marketer for some time now then you may have also either used them at some point in your career, or this could be your main source of traffic.
Whatever your particular case may be, you should definitely stick around and continue reading!!
I have received many emails from my loyal visitors asking me if it’s possible to make money with Facebook ads.
Well, after some detailed research and hours of strategizing, I finally got around to writing a detailed post for you guys.
I’ll be revealing my step by step strategy that I used to kill it with FB ads and showing you guys how to get targeted leads for as low as .25.
I know what you may be thinking about now!!
Scott, how is that even possible?
Sound too good to be true?
Well, when I first discovered this method I thought the same thing.
However, I quickly changed my way of thinking after I started to see results.
In the following post, I’ll be sharing my detailed strategy with you guys today and providing you with the exact blueprint that I used to create my very first profitable ad campaign.
How Do You Want To Earn Money?
Before you even think about making money on this powerful advertising platform you need to have some kind of direction you would like to go in beforehand.
There are several ways for you to make money here and I’ll list these for you guys below.
- Selling Other Peoples Products/Services– By signing up as an affiliate for other well-known companies like Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, & Gamestop you can get paid an affiliate commission for driving targeted traffic to their website.
- Selling Your Own Products- If you have created your own digital products and you’re looking to get the word out and market your products/ services I couldn’t think of a better place to do this then FB ads.
Once you have determined how you want to make money, you now need to decide who your target market is and I’ll be discussing this in detail below.
Your Ads Need To Serve A Purpose
Before you start running ads, you need to ask yourself a few questions.
What do you want to accomplish here?
Are you trying to build your email list?
Generate more leads and sales for your business?
Drive more targeted traffic to your site?
Your ads also need to be relevant to where you’ll be sending this traffic.
The more relevant your ads are to the product or service you’re offering plays a huge part in whether you’re successful here or not.
Relevancy converts and this has proven to be true for me several times.
Also, who are you looking to help?
How will people benefit from your product/ service?
All of these things play a key role in whether your ad campaigns are profitable or put you deeper in debt than you were before.
If your ads don’t clearly serve a purpose then 1 of 2 things or both could happen
- Your ads won’t get approved.
- Your adspend will increase drastically and your conversion rate will plummet.
In my own personal opinion, I feel like if your ads don’t serve a purpose then why are you wasting your time and money with them?
Who Is Your Targeted Market?
Once you determine your purpose, the next step is finding your targeted audience and getting your ad in front of people who are currently searching for what you have to offer.
This is the deciding factor that could either make you or break you and this is where most people who are just getting started, fail.
Trust me, it took me a while to figure out who my targeted audience was as well and I lost a great deal of money trying to master this skill.
One of the things that really intrigued me to learn as much as I could about this advertising platform is their targeting audiences feature in the ads manager.
I was really impressed at how creative you could get using this nifty feature and here are a few screenshots of just how creative you can get with this platform.
As you see above you can refine your audience by their relationship status and even narrow things down to their level of education.
Let’s say that you’re promoting an opportunity that requires people to have some college experience and the minimum of an associates degree to become eligible.
Well, you could run an ad targeting only people who are either attending college now or have graduated.
As if this wasn’t targeted enough, you can also target people by job category or business title.
To get a better idea of what I’m talking about check out the screenshot that I’ve captured for you guys below.
If you currently are in charge of the hiring in your dept at your job and you’re looking for a certain group of people to fit your job description you could narrow this down to these people only.
How To Determine Your Adspend & Keep Your Costs Down
You’ll be able to set your own budget and decide how much or how little you want to spend on your first campaign and you can manage all of this in the ads manager.
I would recommend that you start out with at least a $5 daily budget to do some split testing to see what works and what doesn’t work.
You can tweak your ads as needed until you’re able to develop your own strategy and do what works the best for you.
A few other key points that determine your CPC (Cost Per Click) are things like
- How targeted your audience is
- How many clicks & conversions you get
Facebook will naturally optimize your campaigns for you and give the most qualified clicks for your money.
Once you get this down to a science you could get leads for as low as .25 a click like I said earlier.
Bring Previous Visitors Back To Your Site With Retargeting
How many times have you visited a website like Amazon or Walmart and browsed around for a few minutes, left and then got on Facebook?
Personally, for me, I have done this several times and each time I did, I noticed something pretty creepy.
What’s that, Scott?
Once I visited FB afterward, I would see the same ad from the website I was just on a few minutes ago.
Pretty ingenious marketing if you ask me, wouldn’t you guys agree?
This is made possible by something called a fb tracking pixel.
This is a piece of code that you’ll need to copy/paste to whatever page that you want to bring visitors back to.
If your intention is to get them to opt-in to your newsletter or subscribe to your mailing list, you can specify that once you set your fb tracking pixel.
This is another one of the awesome features that I absolutely love about FB ads.
My Closing Thoughts
I have got to admit that FB ads can be quite confusing and overwhelming when you’re first getting started and it took me a while before I felt comfortable using the power editor.
I had to purchase several fb ad training courses and go through them several times before I was able to wrap my head around all of this and make any sense of it.
Eventually, things started to fall into place for me after I narrowed my focus down to targeting a specific like-minded audience that’s searching for the product that I’m marketing to them.
It wasn’t until I discovered a program called MLSP that I was able to finally crack the FB Ads code and create my first successful ad campaign.
If you have ever wanted to learn more about FB ads and take your marketing skills to the next level, you should definitely check them out for yourself and see if they can help you as much as they have me.
I really hope this post has answered any questions you may have had about fb ads and given you some insight into the ad creation.
If you have any questions, comments, or anything you would like to add to this please leave them for me in the comments below!!
