Company Overview
Onlinejobs.ph was created back in 2009 by a young entrepreneur in Utah by the name of John Jonas.
He created the company as a way for online business owners to connect with highly qualified Filipino virtual assistants and hire them for a fraction of the cost that you would pay American workers.
Filipino’s tend to write English exceptionally well and in most cases, you can hire a full-time assistant for under $400 a month depending on the type of work you’re looking for.
Compare this to what you would pay a full-time assistant in the United States and it’s 10 times as much.
In a nutshell, this is an online resume database where you can view resumes, post jobs, and contact workers to perform a variety of jobs ranging from content writers to web designers.
You can check out their skills, and see all the fields that they have experience in before you hire them.
You can also set up a live interview on Skype to ask them questions and check out how good of a writer they are in real time.
Who Will This Benefit The Most?
The people that would benefit from this service the most would be entrepreneurs and online business owners looking to grow their business the smart way.
If you run any kind of website then you know how stressful and overwhelming it can be to keep up with writing content and making sure it’s optimized for the search engines.
Not to mention creating a social media business page and building a following. Just about anyone who does any kind of work online could benefit from this service.
In the short amount of time that I’ve been a member there, they have already helped my business and I wish that I had discovered them sooner than I did.
How To Use The Onlinejobs.ph Website
Once you sign up for an account there are a few ways that you can contact workers.
This can be done by doing a search, finding one that you really like, and contacting them directly through their profile.
You can also create a job post which the entire community will see and they can contact you directly by email.
One of the most effective ways that I’ve found to find qualified applicants is by posting a job on their job board and have them contact you directly.
This way you can filter your replies and find the perfect candidate in 3 simple steps and I’ll list these for you guys below:
- Check their resume- Do they have the skills and experience you’re looking for?
- When were they last active? This plays a huge role in whether you should hire them or not
- Conduct a video interview- I always recommend that you conduct a face to face interview
Why?
For a couple of reasons
Get to hear them speak and ask them any questions you want directly and get to know them before making a decision.
You can also search for VA’s by filtering them by a certain skill, salary requirement, ID proof score (More on that in a few minutes) or when they were last active.
This is a great way to filter out the people who have less experience and don’t live up to the qualifications that you’re looking for.
Take a look at the screenshot below to get a better idea of what I’m talking about
The monthly salaries are displayed in pesos but listed in quotes are the USD figures.
If you need to convert this into another currency this can be done with a simple Google search.
For example: Let’s say you come across someone’s profile like the one below.
Let’s decipher this so that you can get a rough idea of how much it will cost you to hire a full-time VA that can handle content writing among many other things.
As you see in the screenshot above they have displayed the rate that this particular VA will work for.
Keep in mind that these figures are always negotiable and most VA’s are willing to work with you on this.
From the information provided above, we are able to learn that this VA is mainly a researcher and data encoder who also has experience with content writing and social media marketing.
Furthermore, we are also able to learn that she’s also got some experience in transcribing as well.
You can hire her full time for around $400 which is extremely affordable and is considered good money in the Philippines. It’s a win-win for everyone wouldn’t you agree?
They recently introduced a new metric called ID proof.
This is basically a score of 1-100 which validates that this person really is who they say they are and that they possess the skills listed on their profile.
Due to many people abusing the system and creating multiple accounts under different names John felt the need to implement a system like this to eliminate fake profiles.
Obviously, the higher this number is the better and this number serves 3 purposes which I’ll list for you guys below.
- Professionalism- When looking for the ideal candidate there needs to be some form of professionalism and this ID proof number verifies that this VA is a professional.
- Secure- By having this ID number it also protects you from getting scammed and gives you a sense of security that the person you hire is legit.
- Reputable- When looking to hire a VA for your online business it’s important that they have a good reputation and that they are someone you can depend on to get the job done for you in a timely manner.
This ID number verifies that this candidate possesses all 3 of the qualities I’ve listed above.
What Kind Of Work Can You Outsource At Onlinejobs.ph?
You can literally outsource anything that you either don’t feel comfortable doing or a repetitive task that you don’t have time for.
This could be anything from installing WordPress to writing content.
Instead of me boring you to death by listing all of these jobs I thought that the company founder would do a better job explaining this.
Check It Out Below!
How Much Is It Going To Cost You To Join?
You can create an account for free and browse profiles and also search their database.
In order to contact these workers, you’re going to need a premium account.
Check out the chart below for complete details on the price as well as the different membership options that are available to you.
If you are looking for a web designer or looking to hire someone to help take the workload off of you then there is no reason why you should need to remain a member here once you find the right person for the job.
Out of the 50-60 candidates that have responded to my ad, I was able to narrow this down to 10.
From there, I set up interviews with them and gave them a few small tasks to complete so that I could narrow this down even further. Only 5 out of those 10 people replied back to me.
I picked the 2 people that I liked the best and marked them as hired.
I managed to get all of this done in less than 2 weeks. For some people joining their premium membership will be a leap of faith while it’s a NO BRAINER for other people.
Keeping Track Of Your Virtual Assistants That You Have Hired
The company owner has created software to help you keep track of the VA’s that you’ve hired and track the hours that they’ve worked.
This revolutionary piece of software is called process street, and within it, you can track VA’s, create checklists and training guides to simplify exactly what you’re looking for in a VA and get them trained the right way.
My Final Verdict!
Outsourcing is one of the best ways to grow your business without going over your budget or breaking your bank account.
John Jonas has done an extraordinary job of creating an online job board where you can virtually hire a highly skilled Filipino worker for a fraction of what it would cost you elsewhere and still get high-quality work done.
Online jobs is just one of the many outsourcing sites that are available to you when you’re ready to take the next step in growing your online business.
There are many other alternatives out there like Upwork (Formally known as Odesk) and Bestjobs.ph.
Based on my own personal experience with these other companies I don’t feel like they provide nearly as much value as Onlinejobs.ph.
When should you start outsourcing your work? If you’re new to online business and are just getting started I wouldn’t recommend that you hire a VA to build your website for you and there are a few reasons why that I’ll list below!
Many people may think that this is the answer to their problems and they can simply hire someone and have them do all the work for you.
Wouldn’t that be great if it really was that simple? In a perfect world, this might be possible but we all know that we don’t live in a perfect world.
Once you find that perfect worker you’re going to need to train them and show them just exactly what you expect out of them.
If you’re a newbie yourself and have no idea how online business works you won’t be able to train them to work for you.
Also, when most people get started online they are usually on a very limited budget and don’t have the money to invest in a VA from the very start.
When I first started online I was on a shoestring budget and I had to make every penny count.
I would suggest that you get educated on how to build an online business first before doing any outsourcing work.
One of the best places to learn how to do this is Wealthy Affiliate. It’s free to get started and their step by step training will have you up and running in no time.
I really hope this review has helped you guys out and hopefully, I’ve been able to shed some light on this outsourcing job board site.
What’s your experience with this particular outsourcing company? Have you found a good VA that understands how to run your business?
Please share your experience with other people below!
