Pyramid schemes are everywhere and the majority of MLM companies out there today are set up just like a Pyramid scheme. I bet you didn’t know that the job you are working at right now may be setup in the same way, did you? Well, I got to thinking about this and what I’m about to share with you guys today will blow your mind.
Stick around to find out if you have been a part of a pyramid scheme for years and might not even known about it.
When You Applied For Your Job What Did You Do?
Whenever anyone applies for a job they are requesting information from the company and they are looking to build a relationship with that company in hopes that the company will invest in them and they can earn a paycheck. If they feel that you could be a potential asset to the company, they will hire you on and compensate you for your hard work.
Now what just happened here is that they recruited you into their company.
Just About Any Job Out There You Start At The Bottom Of The Chain
Unless you have a college degree, or you apply for a job where you already have experience then more than likely you’re going to start at the very bottom. You have to work your way up in the company which could take 10-20 years or more.
Let me put this into perspective for you guys so you get a better understanding of what I’m talking about.
Let’s say you got a job at Walmart ( I used to work there myself) A cashier usually starts out at $8.00-$9.00 an hour. How much money do you think is going to pass through your hands in an 8 hour shift? I think it’s safe to say around $5,000-$10, 000, and that’s from just 1 cashier. So you have just been rented out by Walmart and you are helping them make millions of dollars and getting paid very little for your time.
What Makes Your Job Any Different Than The Pyramid Schemes That Most Of These MLM Companies Are Based On?
Let’s take a minute to think about this and put the puzzle pieces together. If you work in corporate America, and are working for a pretty decent sized company, then you are already part of one of the biggest pyramid schemes ever created.
You are at the bottom, and while you may move up in the company after years of hard work, chances are you will never be the CEO of the company.
Some people work at a company for 30-40 years or more and still never make it to the top where the real money is being made.
The only thing that’s not the same about your job and a pyramid is the fact that you don’t have to pay an entrance fee like you do when you join these MLM companies.
When You Compare This To The Online Business World It Makes No Sense As To Why People Continue Living This Way
Your supervisors and upper management could care less about you or if you make any money or not. As a matter of fact, they will actually try and stop you from making a whole lot of money. This is due to the fact that the more money they have to pay you the less money they will make.
In the internet marketing industry, people actually care about your success and want to help you make as much money as they possibly can. We were all brainwashed into thinking that it’s the American way to go to school and work hard so you can graduate and get a J.O.B(Just Over Broke) working for someone else and making them rich.
Why would anyone want to live this way?
If you continue to live this way then you are likely going to spend your whole life working to just have enough money to pay your bills, put food on the table, and never make enough money to enjoy life the way it was meant to be lived.
In the end, you will likely retire old and broke and have just helped someone else become a millionaire instead of yourself. With Internet/Affiliate Marketing, you can actually retire young and have more than enough money to actually enjoy the things in life that were never possible with a job.
Now I’m nowhere even close to being a millionaire yet, but let me tell you, I have made more money online in the short 2 and a half years I have been here than I ever made at any job I’ve ever had.
Would You Rather Work To Live Or Start Living To Work?
If you are sick of helping other companies make money and you would like to take charge of your life and cut the apron strings from your employer, then I want to help you. I know exactly how you must feel about now because I was in your same position 3 years ago.
I was sick and tired of living from paycheck to paycheck and barely making ends meet and not being able to enjoy life to the fullest. To be honest with you, I would probably still be living that way if it wasn’t for Wealthy Affiliate. It’s thanks to their awesome training that I have been able to work from home and I no longer have to worry about a boss breathing down my neck or punching a time clock anymore.
I work when I want, and as long as I want. I set my own schedule and determine how much money I want to make.
Working for yourself is in no way easy and you aren’t going to make a million dollars overnight so don’t quit your day job just yet. If you are willing to invest in yourself and give yourself enough time to create a long term plan for your future, then I think you owe it to yourself to check out Wealthy Affiliate.
I want to hear from you guys!! Is your job just 1 big pyramid scheme or not? Let me know about it in the comments below and I will reply back to you usually within 24 hours or less.

sounds like something a pyramid scheme would say. Corporate jobs compensate your time with money. Unfortunately the reality in America is that these huge corporations are not required to pay their low level employees a liveable wage. But that is a government issue. But let’s take the Walmart example. That cashier is seeing all of this cash pass through the system, but you still need to take into account the overhead of running a store. Rent, utilities, taxes, inventory, insurance, and payroll. All of these MLMs are basically one step away from being an actual pyramid scheme. You spend all of your money to stock their product with no guarantee that it will sell. They hype up the product to make it seem better than anything you can buy at the store for half the price, and it becomes a cult. The reality is that people who buy into the schemes will never see a dime until they recruit enough people that they begin to see those recruitment fees. Good luck making money just selling their products. As someone who actually shed blood sweat and tears to open a legitimate business it makes me sad to see these people calling themselves business owners. It’s a cult, nothing more. And people are being scammed by this nonsense.

I completely agree with this. I will admit I’m in a 9-5 right now, but I have hope now that I have the keys to escape. I actually use my 9-5 money to build a business on the side. I feel that in a job you are building someone’s else dream, in an MLM while it may take a little bit of time, you build your dreams. Most supervisors and bosses don’t give a crap about you moving up in the company, and there are also a lot of favoritism in companies just like junior high and high school days. I personally get annoyed with corporate politics. I feel more positive since I’ve been looking at home based businesses.

Hi Scott,
I like your way of thinking and even though you may be stuck in a 9-5 now, if you work hard at your business that you’re building on the side then you already have the keys in your hand to live the lifestyle that you want. I love it that you are investing the money you earn from your 9-5 into your side business.
When you work a 9-5 job or any job where you’re working for someone else you are building someone else’s dream and I have never liked the idea of that.
I would much rather work on turning my dreams into reality by learning how to build a business for the long term. I personally wouldn’t recommend that you get mixed up in an MLM because you still aren’t building your own dreams you’re making the few people at the top rich.
There is a reason why supervisors don’t want to see you move up in a company and that’s due to the fact that they would have to pay you more and they don’t want to do that. I can totally relate to having to deal with favoritism and I’ve had my fair share of this back when I had a regular job about 4 years ago.
I’m so glad that you’re feeling a lot more positive in your search to make money online and I wish you the best of luck. The one place that has taught me everything that I know today is Wealthy Affiliate. I owe everything to them and they’re the reason why I haven’t had, and no longer needed a J.O.B for the past 3 years.
If you truly are looking to build a profitable online business that will free you from the 9-5 grind then I think you owe it to yourself to check out everything they have to offer and see if they would be a good fit for you or not.
You can get started for free and gain access to everything you need to get your business up and running. I really want to thank you for stopping by Scott and sharing your story with everyone here today. It’s much appreciated.

Hey Scott,
Very cool analogy – really makes you think.
Like most people I was working for others. I was making a good living but I did have to listen to someone and I did have to accept the pay that they thought I was worth.
And I knew I was worth way more than what I was earning, plus being under someones thumb was not the best feeling in the world.
So like you I got online to forge my own way. And as of 2005 I have been making a full time income online as an affiliate marketer.
And like you I am a member of the wealthy affiliate (been 3 years now).
Sure I was making great money prior to becoming a wealthy affiliate member. But thanks to Wealthy Affiliate I have Tripled my monthly income.
What other place can give you that kind of results?
Keep up the great work, you’re providing a great resource for people that want to blaze their own path.
Cheers
Leo

Hey Leo,
Yea, it does make you think doesn’t it?
While I know this is how just about every business in the corporate world is run. When you break it down like I have done here, you see that these businesses are setup in a very similar way to pyramid schemes you find online everyday. It’s never good to have someone else control how much money you can make or have to take orders from them.
You can get jobs out there that pay good, but you also need to keep in mind that in order to keep that money coming in you need to remain under their control and plan your life around the schedule they give you. When you have your own business you are in complete control of your finances and you have a whole lot more freedom.
I guess it’s a matter of personal preference and it depends on what kind of a life you want to live. If you love being under someone else’s control, broke, and never able to have enough money to enjoy the finer things in life, then keep working your 9-5 day job and helping someone else make their dreams come true.
If you are self motivated and want to actually live a good life then you should definitely look into affiliate marketing. It has been around for nearly 20 years and is the best business model for those who want to live life and not just work to live.
WA has also helped me more than triple my income as well and it’s because of their awesome training that I have been able to build such a successful website that you are visiting now. You won’t find a better place anywhere online where you can achieve results like this.
I really want to thank you for dropping by Leo and chiming in on this topic of discussion. It’s really appreciated!

Hi Scott-A different perspective on an age old issue of working for someone and earning a minimal paycheck or starting your own business. As you say “working to just have enough money to pay your bills, put food on the table, and never make enough money to enjoy life the way it was meant to be lived” This issue also has its tendrils in mega-traffic. As we move towards the future I believe more and more people will be working from either closer facilities or their homes, and more will chose to have their own business. Well done!

Hi Tom,
I was sitting here thinking about this the other day and thought I’d do some research on it. When you break it down like I have above in this article you will see that corporate America is setup in about the same way as these pyramid schemes you find in the online world. If you think about it, the people at the bottom make little to any money just like you do at a minimum wage job.
I agree with you that the more time progresses into the future more and more people will be moving into the online workplace and will hopefully start to invest in their future with an online business. I do want to thank you for stopping by Tom and sharing your thoughts on this topic of discussion with everyone here today.
Cheers
