Well, it’s that time of the year again when everyone is wrapping up their year and busting their butt to reach their year end goals and thinking of new goals that they would like to reach in the new year.
I can’t believe 2015 is almost over, It literally seems like the year just started not too long ago doesn’t it? Time sure flies by when you are working hard and trying to reach a deadline for reaching your goals doesn’t it? What goals have you guys reached in the past year and what are some of your goals for 2016?
Many of you might say hey Scott, I got that promotion I was working towards or I was able to lose some weight. Some of you may have quit smoking or got a new job. All of these things are great and I think this is absolutely awesome, but have you ever considered starting your own business?
For many of you out there, this may seem like a daunting task and it may seem like it’s next to impossible. Trust me, I know exactly how you must feel because about 3 years ago I thought the same thing. You can read all about how I got my start in the online business world here.
Here’s How My 2015 Unfolded For Me & A Few Goals That I Was Able To Reach
My year started off with a bang and business was booming for me for the first couple of months. That was until April when I decided to change my theme and completely change the overall look and feel of my website. Little did I know that this would not only affect my traffic but that my sales would also be affected as well.
Many of you who have been following me for a while had probably noticed this huge change and was probably wondering what was going on. I went from getting close to 600 traffic a day down to 300 and at first, I wasn’t sure what I did to have my traffic literally cut in half. Was this discouraging and did it have any effect on my goals that I had set for 2015?
Yes this was definitely discouraging, and it did play a role in me not being able to reach some of the goals that I had set for 2015, but I didn’t let it stop me from seeing the big picture overall. Take a look below at this screenshot of how much traffic I lost from simply changing my theme and the design of my site.
Pretty huge drop over the course of just 1 day wasn’t it? Any business venture that you get involved in is bound to have its ups and downs and this is just part of everyday life. How you actually deal with it will determine the outcome and whether you come out on top or not. I also had to learn how to use this new theme (Which was like learning a whole new language to me) and go through hours of training for it as well.
Despite All Of This, I Was Still Able To Achieve A Few Of My Goals Which I Will List Below:
Become A Master At PPC (Bing Ads, Google Adwords) & Make Sales From It- Even though I wasn’t able to fully accomplish this goal, I was able to make a few sales from paid traffic, so I achieved 50% of what I set out to do originally.
Get My Gaming Headset Site Up & Running & Make A Few Sales- I was able to reach this goal 100% and make money in a completely different niche from something that I’m extremely passionate about.
Get An Invitation To Wealthy Affiliate’s Annual -Super Affiliate Conference In Las Vegas- This has been 1 of my top goals ever since I joined Wealthy Affiliate and I have been working hard at making this trip every year, but for some reason kept falling short of making the required sales for the trip. This year, I got an official invite from Kyle himself and this absolutely made my year right there.
What Are Some Of My Goals For 2016?
A new year always presents more opportunity for me to grow my business by branching out and exploring other ways to drive traffic to my site. I haven’t achieved half of the goals that I set for 2015 so these will obviously be at the top of my list for 2016.
Listed Below Are My Goals For 2016 & Where I Want To See My Business In The Next Year
Start Up My YouTube Channel &Venture Out Into Video Marketing- Did you know that videos rank better than written content does and it’s one of the best ways to drive traffic to your site? Well, this was originally on my list of goals for 2015 but somehow it got pushed to the side. I plan on making this one of my top priorities in the next year and learn how to leverage this powerful platform.
Get Into Email Marketing & Start Building My Email List- This is something that I should have done a long time ago, but I kept getting sidetracked with other things that I wanted to achieve in my online business.
Fully Master Pay Per Click & Become Successful With It- This is another continuation of my goals for 2015 that I plan on reaching in 2016. This is one of the best ways to drive targeted traffic to your website, because, unlike SEO, you are actually in control of where you get ranked in the SERPS and you don’t have to hope you make it onto the first page. You can actually pay for rankings which I think is awesome.
Remove All The Negative People From My Life- In the past year, I have been exposed to a lot of negativity and have had a lot of haters in my life who were trying to bring me down. In the year ahead, I plan on removing these people from my life and hanging out with positive people.
Make More Money & Increase My Sales For This Website & My Gaming Headset Site- I think we all want to make more money don’t we? I mean who doesn’t want to make more money and expand their business. In the next year, I plan on expanding my marketing efforts and increasing my overall revenue.
Helping Other People Change Their Life & Become Financially Independent- In the 3 years I have been a part of the online world I have helped hundreds of people avoid falling victim to the latest and greatest money making scam that has come their way and have shown them a safe and honest place to build a real online business.
In the year ahead I want to make myself more available to you guys and help everyone out in any way I possibly can. Whether it be by helping you get started building your first website, or helping you grow your current one. I want 2016 to be the year of growth for not only me but for YOU as well. Feel free to Hit Me Up at any time with any questions you may have or if you need my advice on anything.
What Are Some Of Your Goals For 2016?
If you have ever thought about starting an online business and taking control of your future there has never been a better time to do so then right now. Seriously what have you got to lose? With the economy in the current state that it’s in now and people losing their jobs everyday you owe it to yourself to make a change in your life and turn things around.
With affiliate marketing you can get paid for simply recommending products that you already use and by helping other people who are looking for these same products and point them in the right direction. The thing I like the most about this opportunity is the fact that there is no selling involved and you don’t need to go out and find people that are interested in what you have to offer.
People actually come to you that are already interested. The only thing you have to do is provide them with the information they are looking for and provide a solution to their problem. It’s one of the best business models that I have ever seen and I have been making a full time living doing this for 3 years now.
If you are looking to make a change in the new year and are sick and tired of living paycheck to paycheck you seriously need to checkout Wealthy Affiliate. This is the place that has taught me everything I know about affiliate marketing and has showed me how to build a thriving online business.
So what are some of your goals for 2016? Since I have shared some of my goals for the new year, now it’s your turn. I would love to hear about what you guys have planned for the new years and some of the goals you would like to reach in 2016. Leave them for me in the comments below and I will get back to you right away.
I hope everyone has a very prosperous new year

Hey Scott,
First off congratulations on hitting most of your 2015 goals. I have no doubt you’ll hit all your 2016 goals in the year ahead.
I remember when you first started online, wow have you come a long way!!
Like you, I have my 2016 goals:
1) Use Video Ads for traffic generation using Facebook and YouTube and become an expert in that space.
2) Increase my video marketing in my niches.
3) Launch my own product(s). In fact the one I have in development is called – A beginner’s guide to video marketing – a step by step plan
4) Focus more on promoting my high ticket affiliate programs I’m associates with.
5) Triple my monthly income by June 1st – 2016.
I wanted to share my goals with you and you’re audience simply because doing so puts them out there and it provides me with more motivation to achieve them.
With that said many people will still fail to achieve their goals simply because they don’t have a plan.

Hey Leo,
Thanks so much man! It’s been a pretty rough year for me and I have gone through a lot this year. Despite all of that, I’m glad that I was able to reach the goals that I did reach and I’m bound and determined to not only hit my goals for 2016 but also hit the ones I wasn’t able to reach in 2015. I have come a long ways since I originally started here in 2012 and thanks for noticing. By the way, wasn’t this the same year that you started the WA as well?
Thanks so much for sharing your goals with everyone here and putting these out here for everyone else to see. Like you said, by doing this it not only helps you stay motivated, but it will also encourage other people to list their goals and share a few things that they would like to achieve in 2016.
Yes, I agree with you that even though people may set their goals, without a plan of action you will never reach them. Nothing is easy when it comes to building an online business, but it’s definitely possible if you are willing to put in the hard work and step outside of your comfort zone. Thank you so much for popping by Leo and sharing your goals for 2016 with everyone here today. It’s much appreciated man.
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a very prosperous new year.
Cheers

Goals are one of the most important things as a business owner and if you’re not setting them, then you are not helping your business.
I accomplished my goals for 2015, but I know that I could’ve done a lot better. Lesson learned though. Always, set goals that are not easy. Yes, be realistic, but make it a challenge.
With 2016 coming up, I now have a different game plan. It is not going to be easy, but I need to set new goals and strive to do better.
If you’re not setting goals, you need to get on it. Start with little ones, accomplish them, and set new ones.
Another great post you have here Scott and I look forward to seeing more from you in 2016!

Hi John,
I completely agree with you that in order for any business to succeed, you need to have some goals in place and a gameplan on where you would like to see your business in the year ahead. 2015 wasn’t the best year for me as I got sidetracked and lost my motivation for a while. Not to mention that I lost a lot of traffic from changing my theme and redesigning my website.
These are things that I think every business owner will face at some point in time and this is to be expected. The important thing to keep in mind is to learn from these things and continue to grow your business. I also have quite a few things that I would like to accomplish in 2016 and like you, I know it’s not gonna be easy.
Who said that running a business was ever easy right? I do want to thank you for stopping by today John and sharing your goals for 2016 with everyone here today. It’s very much appreciated man.
Cheers
