If you have been following my website over the past couple of weeks you’ll know that I have been on a survey kick for a while now and I aim at creating a legitimate section for survey sites that are worth your time. Unfortunately, due to my findings while researching this company I won’t be listing this one under that category.
Within the following review, I’ll be showing you everything that you’ll be doing once you join My survey as well as pointing out all the obvious red flags that were constantly being raised for me when I joined.
What Exactly Is My Survey?
This is a market research company that rewards you for completing surveys and mini polls. They have been around since the early 2000’s so they are by no means new to the online space that we all call the internet. They claim to pay cash directly to your PayPal account as well as giving you the chance to earn sweepstakes entries into their cash drawing.
You’ll also have the chances to earn points by referring other people to their website and I’ll go over their compensation plan in full details here in a few minutes.
If you are the kind of person who enjoys doing surveys to merely earn entries into a sweepstakes drawing then I think Instant Cash Sweepstakes would be a much better option for you and I’ll tell you why in this review.
Who Is This Opportunity Geared For?
Like any survey site, this is more targeted towards stay at home moms or dads. If you are a teenager who either isn’t old enough to get your first job yet or you think it’s cool to take surveys and get rewarded for it then this could work well in your favor.
However, if you’ve come here with the impression that you earn a part time or full time income from simply completing surveys then I’m afraid you’re going to be highly disappointed. If you are looking for a way to earn either a full or part time living from home then I suggest you check out this program here for all the details.
What Will You Be Doing Once You Join?
I found the account signup procedure to go pretty smooth and I was setup with my own account within a few minutes of joining. No red flags as of yet but let’s keep going OK?
Notice how it says you can earn up to 1600 points for this survey and as you can see the status is showing that I completed it but instead of receiving the points I was promised, I was instead awarded sweepstakes entries instead. WTF! What happened to my points?
This was my first red flag and there were many other ones that were raised as I continued taking surveys and doing their mini polls.
This is likely how your screen may look as well when you first sign up.
Their Mobile App Is An Invasion Of Your Privacy In My Opinion
Everyone and their mother seem to have their own app these days and I actually love to download a company’s app if I feel it will benefit me and doesn’t invade my privacy.
However, this doesn’t seem to be the case with the my survey mobile app. I thought I would install their mobile app as well so that I could include it in this review as well. It’s a good thing that I read over the terms and conditions as well as their privacy policy before I proceeded.
Take a look at what I was able to capture for you guys below and you tell me if this isn’t an invasion of your privacy or not?
This sounds pretty sketchy to me and made me think twice before installing their mobile app to my phone. Would you guys be comfortable putting your personal information out there for the whole world to see? Not to mention exposing your contacts information along with your financial information as well.
Stop Wasting Your Time Earning Points When You Could Be Earning $$$$ Learn How You Can Get Started For Free Here
Here’s What I Liked About It
- Free to sign up
- Pays directly to PayPal
- Low payment threshold (1200 points= $10)
Here’s What I Didn’t Like About It
- The only way to earn points which can be exchanged for cash is by referring other people
- You can be screened out of any survey even after you’ve spent 30 minutes or more on it
- Many complaints of MS failing to issue you points even after you’ve completed the necessary tasks
- Their mobile app an invasion of privacy
- You only earn sweepstakes entries when completing surveys, not points, or cash which are pretty useless
- Very misleading information (They claim you can get paid for surveys which couldn’t be farther from the truth)
What Rewards Can You Earn With Your Points?
Your points can be exchanged for anything from Amazon gift cards to magazine subscriptions and music downloads. Like I said earlier, once you accumulate 1200 points or more you can request a payment via PayPal.
See screenshot below for complete details!
Their point to cash ratio is precisely 110 points for every US dollar. If you do decide to refer your friends, family members, or other people you can earn 150 points for each person you talk into joining. This breaks down to around $1.36 for each person you successfully refer.
What Are Other People Saying About Their Experience With My Survey?
As I was scouring the web for information on this company and trying to find out what other people had to say about it, I found that there were many people who were pretty upset with them and experienced some of the same things as me.
There were also cases where some long standing members who have been there for almost 10 years had their points disappear and weren’t able to login to their account.
My Final Verdict
In recent years this company has really gone downhill and what started out as an excellent opportunity in their early years as ended up as a survey site that you should avoid. Why is that you may ask Scott? Ever since they merged with Lightspeed it seems like the quality of their site has deteriorated and continues to get worse as time goes on.
If you are looking for a few alternatives to My Survey I would recommend that you check into PaidViewpoint or Instant Cash Sweepstakes as a few legit survey panels. I have had much better success with both of these survey sites and I was actually able to earn enough to request a cash payment.
If you still want to poke around the site and try your hand at sweepstakes entries, be my guest.
Just keep in mind the things that I’ve pointed out to you in this review. Personally, I would much rather focus on doing things that are going to earn me money, not getting my name entered into a drawing for a chance to win something that I’ll probably never win.
There are much better ways to earn money online that don’t require you to expose your personal information on the web, install an app, or qualify for surveys. If you would much rather learn how to generate a full time or part time income online doing something you love, then I encourage you to Checkout My #1 Recommendation Here.
How was your experience with this company? Did you accumulate a bunch of points only to log-in one day and find your points had disappeared and your account was suspended?
Maybe you were on the fence about joining this survey panel but not quite sure if you would regret it later. Hopefully, my review has given you the information that you needed to make a sound decision about whether MS would make a good fit for you or not.
I would love to hear your questions, experience, and comments, in the comments section below.
Until Next Time
