One of the many things that I love about this business is that I get to help people avoid falling for fraudulent make money online programs and potential scams while making some decent money while I’m at it.
Pretty cool job if you ask me wouldn’t you guys agree?
Well, today I’ll be reviewing a market research site that has been around for quite a few years now called Earning Station.
Have you guys heard of this one?
To be quite honest with you, I’ve never heard of this particular company, but somehow it mysteriously appeared in my FB newsfeed this morning.
From what I was able to learn about this company in the first couple of minutes intrigued me to dig deeper and do some further research on them.
Is this nothing more than a survey phishing scam, or a legit way to get paid for your opinions?
I’ll be answering these questions and so much more within the following review, so let’s get started, OK?
Company Overview
Earning station launched in 2011 by Matt Hynes.
A few years later in 2014, they changed hands and a company called critical mix acquired ownership of this company.
Here recently they branded themselves under the name Massfinity which is also owned by critical mix.
They started out as a customer rewards program that rewards people with various prizes for simply offering their opinions on a variety of topics.
Over the years they have evolved into a GPT (Get Paid To) site where you can earn cash, prizes, and gift cards for many online activities that you perform on a daily basis.
They’re based out of Woburn MA and seem to have a pretty solid rating on many of the more popular survey review sites.
What Is Earning Station?
This is a market research company who’s main focus is on surveys, but they also offer a wide variety of other ways for you to earn money.
This includes participating in daily polls, completing offers, watching videos, playing games, and referring your friends.
You can earn up to 10% of your referrals earnings for as long as they remain a member.
No matter what your style of earning is, chances are they got you covered.
There is also a shopping section where you can save money and earn some cash back while you’re at it.
Their shopping section consists of:
- Groupon Deals
- Money Saving Coupons
Take a look at the screenshot I’ve captured for you guys below to get a breakdown of how their Groupon deals work
Looking to save money on some of your most popular brands?
Then you should definitely check out their coupon section to score some awesome deals on your favorite products.

How Do You Earn Money With Earning Station?
Their currency comes in the form of station dollars which can be exchanged for physical merchandise, gift cards or even virtual currency cards from either Amazon, PayPal, or Visa (Pending approval)
Like I said earlier, there are a variety of different ways to earn money here and the amount of money varies according to the task at hand.
These tasks range anywhere from a couple of cents to a couple of bucks depending on the complexity of each one.
Also, there are many times throughout the month that they will periodically offer featured surveys where you can earn up to 2x what they normally pay you for completing a survey.
For example, instead of earning $1 per survey, you’ll have the opportunity to earn up to $2 for each survey you complete according to their precise instructions.
Take a look at the screenshot below to get a better understanding of what I’m talking about!!
You’ll also have the option to earn up to $10 for simply signing up to 5 other market research/ survey panel websites where you’ll have the chance to earn even more money.
Personally, I wouldn’t recommend you to do this unless you don’t mind having your inbox flooded with spam messages and having telemarketers calling your phone relentlessly.
However, if this doesn’t bother you and you’re looking for a way to earn an easy $10, then go for it!!
Why not??
How Will You Get Paid?
Once you have accumulated 1000 SD (Station Dollars) you can request a payment.
This is equivalent to $10 and you’ll need to reach this payment threshold before you can cash out your earnings and get paid.
Depending on how you choose to get paid there are a variety of ways for you to redeem your station dollars and I’ll list these for you guys below
- Gift Cards- You can choose from over 300 gift cards ranging from Best Buy, Amazon, Applebees, or AMC theaters.
- Cash Money- This happens to be my preferred way to get paid and the way that most people prefer.
Who doesn’t like to get paid in cold hard cash?
Not so fast though!!
In order to qualify to receive cash payments by either PayPal, Amazon, Or Visa, you’ll need to meet their requirements and go through the approval process which can take some time.
This can take up to 4-6 weeks depending on how much you’re trying to cash out!!
Gift cards come in the form of a digital code which will be sent electronically to the email address listed on file when you signed up for your account so make sure that you’ve given a valid address.
Here are just a few of the more popular gift cards that are available to you below!!
Is Earning Station Worth Your Time Or Is This Another Survey Phishing Scam You Should Avoid?
When I first came across this survey site I had high hopes and my expectations were pretty high when I first joined.
However, as I started going through the site, and attempted to complete the surveys, I was disappointed in the number of surveys that I didn’t qualify for after answering 15-20 minutes of screener questions.
Would I consider this to be a survey phishing scam?
Not necessarily, but at the same time, I don’t feel like it’s worth your time and the hassle, only to be told that you didn’t qualify for the survey.
These days there are only a handful of survey sites that I feel are worth your time and will actually pay you for your opinions.
These are:
Having the opportunity to voice your opinion and get paid for it may seem like a pretty cool idea.
This may provide you with the chance to earn some extra money or a fun night out to the movies with your friends or significant other.
Let’s face it, this isn’t going to provide you with the skills to pay the bills or put food on the table to support your family.
It’s also not the greatest way to make use of your time and not something I would recommend that you spend more than an hour a day on.
To be honest with you guys, I would rather spend my time learning a skill that will not only pay my bills and support my family, but also allow me to live a life without boundaries or limits.
If you’re the type of person who values their time and would rather spend it doing something productive and learning a skill that could change your life for the better, then I think Wealthy Affiliate would be a much better fit for you.
It’s because of their top notch training and one on one help and support that has helped me build a thriving business in the online world doing something I love.
If this sounds like something you would be interested in learning more about then I encourage you to check them out and see what they can do for you.
It’s free to get started and your starter membership comes with everything you need to get up and running.
I really hope this review has helped you guys out and you were able to gain some insights into whether this survey panel is worth your time or not.
Do you have a personal experience with earning station that you would like to share with other people?
I would love to hear all about it and I’m sure other people would as well!!
Leave any comments, questions, or any personal experience in the comments for me below!!

I agree with mostly everything you said. I wanted to add that when you stated it is not worth it, in your opinion.
The reason why is due to the super low payouts for completing surveys. It seems like the only ones that you can strategically complete are the ones that pay under $1.
You also get a bunch of “.02” payments for non-qualifications and daily activities. While I think it’s cool for rewarding us for things like not qualifying for a survey, I feel like this should at least be 5 cents.
The 5 sites to get you $10 is also very misleading. I reviewed the options and in my vast experience, the sites being offered are HARD TO sign up to.
I say that in terms of once you begin to sign up, they phish you out to other connections as you are just simply trying to sign up for the required site.
Once you start to attempt this, you may wind up on a webpage, not knowing how, and what the page is relevant to in terms of what you FIRST clicked on to start the trail.
Thanks so much Scott for such a detailed and informative review of the earning station.
I found your site while searching for reviews on this survey panel.

Hi Vincent and thank you so much for stopping by and sharing the experience that you’ve had with earning station with everyone here today.
It’s definitely not worth it to make 2 cents here and 50 cents there. It feels like I was disqualified from more surveys than I qualified for and once I did qualify I found them to be quite boring.
I totally agree with you and I feel like they should at least pay us 5 cents for going through the hassle of answering a series of screener questions only to find out that you don’t meet the criteria that they’re looking for.
Like you, I also found the 5 sites for $10 to be quite deceiving as well and this is where you need to be careful about phishing for your info.
It’s best to avoid sites like these and stick to only trusted survey sites that actually pay decently.
You are most welcome Vincent and thanks again for stopping by and sharing the experience that you’ve had with this system.
It’s much appreciated!!
