Brief Overview Of Slicethepie & How It Works
I discovered this program a few days ago while I was doing research on something else. I liked what I found and thought I would share this info with you guys. What is Slicethepie exactly and what will you be doing once you join?
This company was founded back in 2007 as a way for unsigned and up and coming artists to get their music discovered and get some honest feedback from people all across the globe. It’s also a great way for you as a music lover to discover new tunes that you’ve never heard before and get paid to offer your opinions on them.
It’s really a win-win situation for everyone! Back in Aug 2015, they branched out into the fashion world and you can also get paid to review different pieces of clothing in the fashion industry and make a little extra cash while you’re doing it. How cool is that?
What Will You Be Doing Once You Join?
Once you sign up as a reviewer you’ll be asked a series of questions so that they can get a better idea of what kind of music you’re interested in, and a basic idea of where and how many clothes you buy in a months time. This way you’ll be reviewing things that you’re interested in and be able to provide them with valuable feedback.
Once you answer these questions you’ll get to start reviewing songs right away and get started making some extra cash.
How Does The Review Process Work?
They have a streamlined process in which you’ll need to follow if you want to maximize your earnings and write quality helpful reviews. You’ll be given 90 seconds to listen to a song before you can submit your review to them. You simply need to listen to the song and write what you liked or didn’t like about it in the box to the right.
After you’re done reviewing the song you’ll need to rate it on a scale of 1-10 and click the submit review button at the bottom. In order to get paid the most and get them to accept your reviews, you need to put some thought into them and take some time to listen to each song before you start writing.
You can’t just say “Awesome Tunes Bro” or “This Song Blows Dude“. If you do this the system will reject your review and you’ll be presented with a warning telling you to write a more lengthy and detailed response since these reviews are sent directly to the artist.
Here are a few key points that you should point out when rating these songs:
Intro- Does the song have an intro? Does the intro naturally lead into the song like it should or does it awkwardly lead you into the main part of the song?
Vocal melody- Does the song have a catchy and interesting melody? Is it easy to remember and get stuck in your head? What do you think of the artists vocal quality? Are they able to hit those high notes without shattering the mirror next to you? You need to point these things out in your review.
Rhythm and beat- Does the song have a good beat and does it make you want to get up and shake your thang on the dance floor?
Lyrics- Are the lyrics clear and are you able to make out what the artist is saying? Are they a good lyricist and able to make the words of the song flow into the chorus? These are all important things that you should point out as you write your reviews.
Here’s an example of what you should be including in your reviews. Check out this screenshot below!
How Much Do You Get Paid For Each Review?
There are a few deciding factors that determine how much you’ll get paid for each review. Like I said above the more descriptive, lengthy, and constructive your review is the more you’ll get paid. I started out at 4 cents, but the more I did I eventually got this number up to 6 cents for each one.
I know this may sound ridiculously low and this is definitely not something that’s going to make you a ton of money. If your sole intention is to make money and you have no interest in checking out some new tunes or reviewing the latest fashion trends, then I don’t think this program will be a good fit for you.
As I completed more and more reviews I was finally bumped up to 15 cents per song and I was able to reach the payment threshold required to request a payout.
In order to cash your earnings out, you’ll need to have a PayPal account and have a minimum balance of $10.00 USD before you get paid. You only need to be 13 years old to sign up and this program is ideal for teens looking for ways to make some pocket change while surfing the web and jamming out to some tunes.
You can also get a bonus for inviting your friends to sign up. You’ll receive 20% of all of their earnings for the first 60 days and 10% after that. After you request a payment they’ll send your reviews off to be reviewed by an actual human and it can take up to 5 days before you see the money show up in your Paypal account.
Obviously, you’re not going to get rich or even make enough money to live on by doing this, but it’s a great way to discover some new bands and new artists that you haven’t heard before.
This opportunity is geared more towards teenagers and people looking to make some extra money, but anyone who loves music can do it.
If you’re looking to make some life changing money then I suggest that you check out my #1 recommendation here
Is Slicethepie Worth Your Time And Effort?
I actually love this site and I had a blast checking out some new tunes and artists that I’ve never heard of before. Music happens to be a big part of my life and whenever I get the chance to discover new artists I take full advantage of it. If you aren’t interested in helping new artists get discovered or you don’t really care about music, then this program won’t benefit you much. I think you would do much better making money doing something you love vs just looking to get a paycheck
I guess it depends on how much you appreciate music and if you love discovering new artists. For people looking to do this simply to get a paycheck, I don’t think this would be worth your time and effort. However if you’re a teen or a stay at home mom looking for a way to make some easy money surfing the web and listening to music then you could do really good here.
This can be pretty time consuming and you really need to listen to the tracks carefully in order to pick out key elements like I mentioned above. You also need to have a good grasp of music and understand a few of the technical aspects of it to give a good review. I really hope this information has helped you guys out today and I hope this has given everyone an inside look at what you’ll be doing once you join.
If you have any questions, comments or if you would like to add something to this you can do so below. Also, if you have already tried this program and you would like to share your experience with everyone I invite you to do so below in the comments.
Cheers
