Company Overview
Opinion outpost is a survey panel where you can get paid to take surveys, participate in polls, and get rewarded with gift cards, PayPal deposits, and entries into their quarterly $10,000 cash sweepstakes drawing.
This is a widely popular survey panel that used to be #1 a few years back, but here lately the quality of their service has really gone downhill and you’ll find it nearly impossible to qualify for surveys.
It took me 3 times to actually qualify for my first survey and many other people have expressed their concern about this issue as well.
In the following review, I’ll be providing you with all the information that you guys need to make a sound decision as to whether this particular survey panel would make a good fit for you, or if you’re better off exploring other options.
Don’t worry, I won’t take up too much of your time and I’ll try and keep this as short and sweet as I possibly can so that you can get on with the rest of your day.
How It Works
Like other survey panels, it’s free to sign up, and once you verify your account you’ll need to provide a good amount of personal information about yourself.
This is necessary so that they can match you up with surveys that cater to your hobbies and things that you’re interested in.
Once you fill out your demographics and go through the screening process you’ll be all set to start earning some extra money by taking your first survey.
After I finally qualified for my first survey I found it to be quite long and it ended up taking me close to 45 minutes to complete it.
They told me I would receive $1 after successfully completing it, but to my surprise, I actually got $1.50 deposited directly into my account.
Not too bad if I might say so myself! However, I tried to qualify for another survey and finally, after 5 attempts I decided to give it a rest and see if I could qualify for additional surveys later.
This seems to be the #1 issue that most people face when taking surveys online and it can be quite annoying, to say the least.
Who wants to spend up to 30 minutes or more going through the qualification process just to find out that you failed to meet the requirements for the survey?
Are There Other Ways Of Earning Money Besides Surveys?
The main way that you earn money with this site is by taking surveys. However, you can participate in their referral program and earn up to $1 each for the first 5 people that you refer and they complete their first survey.
To my understanding, it sounds like you’re limited to 5 people and that’s it. To be honest with everyone here today, I see this as a waste of time and you’ll likely spend more time trying to get your friends to sign up then it’s worth to make a measly $5.
Let’s break this down and let me put a few things into perspective for you!
Not only do these 5 people need to sign up and verify their account, they also need to qualify and complete their first survey before you get this money credited to your account.
This is easier said than done and depending on whether your referrals are patient and don’t mind going through the qualification process and possibly failing to qualify multiple times for a survey.
How Does Their Compensation Plan Work?
Once you start completing surveys you’ll be compensated in the form of points. Each survey pays anywhere from 5-60 points for each survey. Some may pay more than others, while you may get less than this.
Depending on how much of your profile you initially completed when you first started, will determine how much you make per survey.
10 points= $1
You’ll need to accumulate 100 points before you can request a PayPal payment. There are other rewards that you can exchange your points for, like gift cards, and mileage plus award points if you happen to travel a lot.
Are You Sick Of Getting Paid Pennies For Taking Surveys? Check Out My #1 Recommendation For Earning A Full Time Income Online Here!
Here’s What I Liked About It
- Free to sign up
- You’re paid pretty decently for each survey
- A great way to earn free gift cards
Here’s What I Didn’t Like About It
- Limited income potential
- Really difficult to qualify for surveys
- Their surveys are long and really boring
- Their quality of service has really gone down in the past few years
- They don’t send out enough surveys
- Can be really time consuming
What About Their Quarterly $10,000 Drawing?
In addition to the other rewards that I’ve listed above, you’ll also have 4 chances each year to be entered into their $10,000 sweepstakes drawing.
This takes place 4 times a year and there is an opportunity to win up to $40,000 a year.
What’s the likelihood of this happening to you? The odds of you becoming a sweepstakes winner is about the same as you winning the lottery.
Can it happen? Most definitely, but I think you would have a much better chance of getting struck by lightning, to be honest with you guys.
On a more positive note, the surveys that you don’t qualify for will earn you a sweepstakes entry into their quarterly drawing.
With the number of surveys that I’ve already failed to qualify for has already earned me several entries and I’m sure I’ll get much more.
How Does Opinion Outpost Compare To How I Earn Money Online? Let’s Find Out Below!
Does Opinion Outpost Really Pay & Is This Worth Your Time?
This is a 100% legitimate survey site that really does pay once you meet the required number of points for each reward.
After failing to qualify for many of their surveys, I did eventually meet the requirements to cash out and I received my first $10 payment from them just a few days ago.
Over the course of 5 days, I spent a total of 16 hours just to earn $10. If you wanna get technical here and break this down to the exact cent you would be getting paid .062.5 cents an hour.
Doesn’t seem worth your time, does it? Especially when you take into account the time you spent trying to qualify for these surveys in the first place and make zilch.
I’m not sure how valuable your time is to you, but personally, I don’t feel there are enough hours in the day, to begin with, and my time is worth a whole lot more than 62 and a half cents an hour.
Wouldn’t you agree?
Another thing to keep in mind is that once you get paid this is a one time payment and you’ll need to rinse and repeat this each time you wanna get paid. Seems like a whole lot of work for $10, doesn’t it?
Seems like a whole lot of work for $10, doesn’t it?
What if I told you there was a way for you to do the work 1 time and continue to get paid over and over again? Would you be interested?
This is a much smarter way to work and it happens to be how I earn a full time living online from the comfort of my home. This involves you learning a new skill and will require lots of hard work in order to be successful, but it’s definitely worth it.

Hi Scott,
So let me get this straight, one survey takes 15 minutes and you get 10 points for it? Which is equivalent to 50p? Hmm thanks but no thanks.
Thanks for such a straightforward and honest review of this survey panel. This has come up in my FB newsfeed and actually intrigued me to search for more info about it.
I’m so glad that I stumbled across your review before wasting my time with another pointless survey site that pays peanuts.
Is there any other survey sites that you would recommend that are actually worth your time?
Thanks, alot man!!

Hey, Anthony!!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I’m glad that you did your due diligence and did some research on Opinion Outpost before joining. I’m glad that you were able to find my review and hopefully, I’ve been able to give you an inside look at what you’ll be doing before you join.
I don’t mess with many survey sites as I feel that they’re a waste of time but there are a few that I feel is worth your time.
There are only a handful that I mess with anymore and if I had to list my top 3 it would be Paidviewpoint, Swagbucks, or My Points. These are the ones that I’ve had the best results with and that I would recommend.
I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any other questions.
Cheers
~Your Friend, Scott~
