Blogging can be one of the absolute best jobs out there for anyone who loves to write and share their life with the entire world.
Personally, for me, blogging has got to be the best job I’ve ever had in my entire life and I wouldn’t trade it for any other job out there.
Over the past 5 years, I have earned a great deal of money from my blog/ website and it seems like even after 5 years I am still learning something new almost every day.
Over the past several weeks I have discovered a few really easy ways for you to earn extra money from your blog and I’ll be listing these for you guys today.
Have you been contemplating setting up your very own blog/ website but you aren’t exactly sure if its worth your time and effort?
Also, while it’s practically impossible to determine how much you can make from a blog, this post should give you a better idea of what to expect as well as when to expect it.
If you answered yes to the question above then I invite you to stick around as I’ll be showing you a few extra income streams that you can use to increase your revenue and bring in additional income.
Are you guys, ready?
1) Sponsored Posts
I actually just discovered these myself a couple weeks back and I have already earned a couple hundred bucks from this in less than 2 weeks.
I thought I would share this information with you guys so that you can benefit from it as well and use this to earn additional income from your website or blog.
What Is A Sponsored Post?
According to Wikipedia, A sponsored post is a post to any community driven notification oriented website which is explicitly sponsored as an advertisement for a particular company to raise awareness for the company or brand.
In Laymen’s terms, this is a blog post that a company writes about their company and will pay you as a website owner a pretty substantial amount of money to get their sponsored post on your website.
How Much Can You Earn From Sponsored Posts?
This varies from $50 all the way up to $1,500 or more depending on a variety of different factors which I’ll list for you guys below.
A majority of these factors include things like
- Domain age
- Site Authority
- How much daily traffic you get
- Your Social Media Following
- The industry (Niche) you’re in
- How much of an influence you are in your niche
Obviously, you would start out small like $50 per submission and as your site grows and ages you could up this number to a couple hundred or more.
Also, it’s important for you to keep in mind that your website needs to be at least a year or 2 old before you can utilize this strategy.
People want to advertise of a site thats well established, has some authority, and is getting a pretty decent flow of traffic on a daily basis before they hand over their money to you.
Where Can You Find People Who Are Looking To Advertise Via Sponsored Posts?
This is the beauty of it all, you don’t find them, they find you.
Or at least that’s how it has been for me so far anyway.
Over the past 2 weeks, I have had several people hit me up wanting to know if I’m accepting sponsored posts and what are some of my rates?
I’m sure if you did a search on Google about sponsored posts and where to find companies interested in this type of thing you would find an abundance of information on it but I think it’s better if they contact you instead.
2) Renting Space Out On Your Website
As a website/ blog owner you have an incredible advantage to earn a great deal of money by simply renting out website space that you aren’t currently using and make a nice profit each month.
This could also be an excellent way for you to build up some residual income month after month doing something that requires no maintenance and is a set it and forget it type of deal.
Other than having to moderate the ad to make sure it’s performing well and changing it up from time to time, you could practically earn a full time living from this alone.
Obviously, if you’re new to the online world then this will take a while before you are fully established and have enough traffic to offer this type of service.
How Much Should You Charge?
This all depends on how much traffic your site gets and what position they’re wanting to be featured on your site.
If they’re asking to be featured in the top spot on your website then obviously it’s going to cost a whole lot more than if they were to be featured in your sidebar halfway down your page.
While I can’t give you guys any exact figures as too how much you should charge, I can tell you this much.
If you’re looking to rent out a small space of like 300 X 300 in your widget area about halfway or more down your page then I would charge $50 to $60 a month.
For something a little farther up in your sidebar toward the top I would say at least $150/month depending on the type of ad and how relevant it is with your niche.
These are just a few rough estimates off the top of my head and something to give you a general idea of how much you could earn with this.
3) Monetize Your Site With Ads
One of the most popular ways for you to increase your revenue is by placing ads on your site and getting paid each time a user clicks or sees the ad.
There are 2 main types of ads that you can place on your site to boost your revenue and they are as follows
- CPC Ads
- CPM Ads
CPC (Cost Per Click) ads are where you get paid so much when a user clicks on an ad, you get paid so much per click.
CPM (Cost Per Impression) is where you’ll get paid a fixed amount for every 1,000 impressions(Views) that your ads receive.
There are a plethora of ad programs out there that will pay you a decent amount of money for displaying ads on your site and here are a few of the most popular ones.
- Google Adsense
- Chitika
- Infolinks
- Mediavine
- Among many others
In order to make any decent money with ads, it’s imperative that you’re getting a steady flow of traffic on the daily at least 500 or more to make any money with this monetization technique.
This is geared more towards established bloggers who have been in it for a while and are generating traffic to their site on a daily basis.
My Closing Thoughts
These are only 3 of the most recent ways that I can think of off the top of my head to monetize your site and earn additional income.
If you were to just utilize 1 of 2 of these methods alone you could be earning a full time income + some and this should give you an idea of the vast amount of income potential thats available in the online world.

Where Can You Find Training On How To Become An Awesome Blogger?
All of this may sound enticing to you and if you aren’t already reaping the insane rewards that come with owning your own blog then you’ll definitely want to listen up as I’m speaking directly to you guys right now.
Years ago, I had always read the crazy stories that other people were having with blogging and affiliate marketing but it seemed like no matter how hard I tried, I always fell for some fly by night scam that promised to make me millions for doing little to NO work.
After many failed attempts at this, I finally stumbled upon a training program called Wealthy Affiliate that actually cared more about helping me succeed then they did in taking my money.
This is the place that has shown me how to build several websites around a hobby of mine and learn how to monetize it in a multitude of ways which I’ve shared just a few of these with you guys above.
If you have always been interested in becoming a blogger but wasn’t sure where to get the proper training then I would highly recommend that you checkout WA for yourself to see what they can do for you.
