In today’s day and age, it seems like there is an app for just about anything from going out to eat to eating healthy and losing weight.
Well, over the past year or so, I have reviewed quite a few apps and have personally put them to the test by using them for a couple weeks myself, prior to reviewing them here on my website.
I have also earned quite a bit of money from these apps over the course of a year as well and many of them have actually paid me to go out to eat, go see a movie, and even go shopping.
How is this even possible, Scott?
I know this may sound a little far-fetched and hard for you guys to believe, but I’ll be providing you with solid proof and showing you how I was able to do this in the following post.
If you’re the type of person who loves to save money and would like the chance to put some of that hard earned money back in your pocket then I encourage you to continue reading.
#1- Dosh
This has got to be the best app out there for saving money, earning cash back, and getting paid to share this app with your friends.
I have currently earned nearly $300 from this app in a little over a month from simply sharing it with my friends and family and posting it on social media.
I also like the fact that it’s versatile and provides you with multiple ways to either save money or make money.
Here are a few ways to save money using this app:
- Save On Travel- Earn $25 in cashback when booking a hotel featured in the app. This is a bonus on top of the regular cashback you already will earn.
- Going Out To Eat- Receive anywhere from 2%- 10% in cashback from eating at your favorite restaurants in your local area.
- Car Maintenance- When was the last time you had an oil change? What if I told you that you could earn up to 10% in cashback from participating retailers listed in the Dosh app? Pretty Sweet, Right?
Also from now (Feb 18) through Feb 26th you can earn $10 for each person you share this app with that links a credit/ debit card to their account.
This is usually $5 which is even a great deal but as the saying goes more is always better!!
Wouldn’t you guys agree?
Take a look at how much money I earned in only 2 and a half weeks below!!
As you see in the screenshot above, this money was sent directly to my PayPal account and I received it in less than 20 minutes after I requested a payment.

#2- Ibotta
If you’re the type of person who does most of the grocery shopping then you need to listen and pay close attention to what I’m about to share with you.
Ibotta has got to be another one of the best apps that I’ve used in quite some time that allows me to not only shorten my weekly grocery bill and put some money back in my pocket, but I’m also able to earn money by sharing it with my friends, family, and my social media network.
As a matter of fact, there were a few products that actually paid me to try them out and purchase their product.
I wish I still had the receipt to show you guys and If I run into another offer like this I’ll be sure to share it with you.
1 of these was something called Pop Chips that was redeemable at my local Walmart.
They were on sale at Walmart for $2.88 and the Ibotta cashback was $350.
Since I’m trying to eat healthier anyway and lose some weight I thought sure why not.
At first, I thought this was a typo cause this would mean that they would pay me .060 to try them out.
Sure enough, I purchased these chips at Walmart and shortly after I verified my purchase with Ibotta, I had $3.50 cashback sitting in my account.
I know that 60 cents might not seem like a lot to you, but the fact I’m trying to make here is I received more money back than I originally spent.
Also, you can earn up to $20 in bonuses just for signing up and even more by sharing the app with your friends, family, and social media network.

I haven’t earned nearly as much with this app as I made with Dosh but still a pretty decent amount as you’ll see in the screenshot below!!
Not bad for buying some of the everyday things that I already buy on a regular basis, is it?
I didn’t think so either, and I earned this cashback in 3 short weeks.
#3-Drop Rewards
While this app may not be nearly as good as the other ones listed in this post, it’s definitely not one that you want to overlook.
Since it’s US launch back in October 2017, I have earned a lot of free gift cards to some of my favorite restaurants in only a few short months.
Other than earning $5 for linking a credit/debit card to your account, this app rewards you with gift cards instead of cash.
If you aren’t a fan of scanning receipts or uploading pics of your receipts then you’re going to love Drop.
You’ll earn discounts and points automatically from your favorite brands without the hassle by simply using your linked card at the store like you normally would.
You can also receive bonus points when you join which is like free money. To learn more about Drop Rewards check out my detailed review here!!
My Closing Thoughts
If you’re a techy person who is into the whole app scene, or you’re the main person in your household that’s responsible for the grocery shopping and other financial responsibilities then you should definitely add these apps to your collection.
These types of apps won’t make you rich and you won’t be able to quit your job by simply downloading them and using them in your day to day activities.
However, as you’ve seen above, you can earn a pretty substantial amount of money from them by using them on a daily basis.
I really hope this information has helped you guys out today and has given you some insight into how much potential is available with these shopping apps.
Have you personally used any of the apps listed above? I would love to hear all about your experience with them in the comments below.
Until Next Time
~Your Friend, Scott~
